Do you think cedar trees will be able to grow anywhere?

I'm sure most people will think no, but perhaps with so much more customization to our towns in this game, and the fact that we're on a deserted island, cedar trees can grow anywhere instead of just the top half of the island. Has there been any official evidence about this yet?

This is something I thought about, and I've skimmed through pretty much all gameplay of New Horizons. I did not see a single cedar tree in the lower half of the island, only seeing them in the top half of the island. So I'd like to assume its the same as always.

I'm actually curious about this too. If we can remove full trees and place them somewhere else I think they'd be able to be on the lower half? Unless moving one to the lower end of the map results in them dying?

If we can dig up and move trees, we could move some pines to the south, east or west.

Unless it gives a message "You can't put that here", but that would be weird since the amount of power we will have literally allows us to move mountains. :)

“I finally have a pine in the south....aaaaannd it’s dead now” :p

*eats an apple*
*digs up an entire cedar tree*
*travels all the way to the south end of the island*
*digs hole*
*places cedar tree*
*cedar tree literally explodes*

Well, it was a thought.

I'm going to try it.
Trial and error folks!

God I hope so. Cedar trees are my favorite specially when they light up for Christmas.

I hope so! I would love to have them on the south side of my town, as I love them when they light up during the holidays. I may have to test to see if moving one from eating an apple will go on the bottom part of my island, unless, you know, someone beats me to it. xD

pretty sure they can grow anywhere apart from the beach

I’m hoping that you’re able. I didn’t ever really understand why they wouldn’t let you have cedar trees on the lower side of the island. I mean, I’m sure there are points, but... please explain them to me, Nintendo.

It'd be nice, but so far we've only seen them on the upper levels in videos. We'll have to wait and see.

I understand the concept of only growing in the north, but we are on an island now, we should be able to put them anywhere. I hope we can so that I can put my house in the south if I desire.
