do you think island designer unlocks too late in the game?

Maybe. I think terraforming and bridge/incline making should be unlocked at the same time.
I'm still suck with this ugly ass log bridge leading to my nook's shop from day 4 or w/e.
Dont make me get stuck with an ugly bridge, give me options!

i think it's appropriately placed because it gives players something to work towards and it's not hard to unlock, but like @dioscuri said, it's SO inconvenient for when you want to place a bridge earlier on but the evenness is a little bit off.

I do feel the progression in this game is a bit stilted. If they gave you everything at once, it wouldn't match particularly well with traditional Animal Crossing pacing, but in the same token, it's frustrating as a player to discover game-changing features but not be able to take advantage of them easily because of the high cost of relocating expensive elements.

It took me 2 weeks to unlock it. Considering how long I plan to play the game, I don't think that it is that long of a wait.

Not having access to the island designer early on is pretty much the whole reason I'm not bothering about planning my town yet. I do have ideas for what I want to do but it seems kinda pointless (and costly) moving buildings around when I know I'll just have to move them again once I get the island designer ability.

Not only that but I'm building a bridge at the moment and I'm not even sure I'll want to keep that bridge after I get access to the island designer. So it sorta feels like I'm throwing away bells.

Can we move bridges in the same way we can move buildings?

Nope! I never expected terraforming in the game at all so I’m not even sure what to really do with it. I love what I see everyone doing to their islands and I’m kinda jealous... all I can think to do are land bridges because I don’t want to disrupt the layout we currently have. That said, it’ll be nice to put a pond outside of the museum! Idk I see so many peoples islands that look AMAZING with the terraforming but liking my layout and the fact that I share an island are both interfering with me REALLY exploring the tool.

It's not just too late, but needing to have a 3 star rating is ridiculous. I had to put every single item I own outside, put up tons of fencing and flowers, AND craft another 40+ items on top of it and place them all outside too just to unlock it. I wasn't happy about having to waste so many miles and resources just to unlock it. Not to mention, all of those 40+ items I crafted I just immediately sold as soon as I got a 3 star rating anyway.

Honestly I wish you could get it a whole lot sooner, but it makes sense why you get it when you do.. I just wish you could relocate bridges and ramps instead of demolishing them and then having to repay for them in another spot

I like that it's later, but they should have been more reasonable when it comes to bridges and inclines beforehand. If I want to place it on an "impossible" spot, the game should have generated ground so that it can fit in the spot of my choosing.

I think having it unlock after having a minimum of 7 villagers is a bit late yeah... I dont time travel at all so having to move BOTH my shops, the museum, and 8 homes (plus mine) is going to take a very long time.
