Do you think the Welcome amiibo items should be orderable in the next game?

I remember that back when the Welcome amiibo update was released, they introduced the items Happy Home Designer had that New Leaf didn?t, but they made them unorderable, which I assume was because they weren?t in New Leaf to begin with, as they made it campground-exclusive. But now that a new game is coming out, it?s assumed that all of these items (not counting 7-Eleven or Sanrio items) would be available from the beginning. Because of that, do you think they should be orderable from the catalog? Do you think they will?

I do not think they will become orderable; seems like an easily negatable profit loss. I could see some possibly becoming orderable if the item was less popular and not brand or collaboration exclusive, such as the Monster Hunter, Splatoon, Sanrio, etc. items. The one instance where that could also possibly change is the "regular" RV items are just replaced with entirely new RV villagers with their own set of items.

What do you mean by “profit loss”?

Since most of the items are obtained through Amiibo products, making them orderable makes them less exclusive/not harder to come by in trades. If you are still getting them from Amiibo products and they are orderable, then it would not matter as much profit-wise, but still has them losing out somewhat.

This is more in the instance if they are obtained through the game normally such as T&T and what not. If you are still getting them from Amiibo products, then it would not matter as much.

Are you talking about New Leaf or the Switch game? I’m talking about the Switch game.

Both, I am explaining why I do not think they will be made unorderable in the Switch Animal Crossing due to an instance in New Leaf.

Well part of the issue is they aren't producing new cards - do you think they will reissue?

It could be possible. There is still Amiibo functionality figure-wise on the Switch, so I am expecting at least something in terms of Amiibo content. As to what, we will have to wait and see.

On one hand, I think Snowesque is right, that the items won't become orderable because then there will be less of an incentive to buy amiibo cards - assuming they re-release them, which I hope they do.
Then again, they could also make some changes, such as getting rid of the RV's and just having the villagers move in from the cards, or making the items like the DLC items, in that they can be ordered once you've gotten them. As long as there's some benefit to having the cards rather than just getting the items from other people, there's a reason to buy them.
