They specifically said the Earth Day update adds "extra features", so bushes certainly might be part of it, but we could also get other things too. Who knows.

I wouldn't expect anything major yet. I don't think they'd want to distract from the first big event. I could imagine something like more tropical fruits returning.

I wouldn't expect anything until after the Bunny Day event. I think they said they were adding more stuff after Bunny Day along with Earth Day, but I don't remember for sure. I guess we will just wait and see. I'm just excited for an epic egg hunt! AC is the only place I can do an egg hunt myself anymore without getting strange looks from other people. It is no fun when you age out of fun activities.

Yeah I was under this impression too.

I believe the update added in the overall coding for it and this one is a quick "unlocking" sort of update that activates the event

yeah i was under the assumption that this "update" tomorrow just unlocks the event since we technically already downloaded the bunny day event earlier.. i would expect more "major" stuff maybe with the earth day update

After a previous update, data-miners discovered stuff that points to gyroids and the cafe being re-implemented at some point, which is pretty rad. I doubt that the next few updates will be anything super substantial due to the pandemic potentially keeping devs out of the office, but it's something to look forward to eventually.
