I'm not.
Don't complain about my post then ^_^
I fail to see how that makes sense. You said your part, so I said mine. There are no "Official Rules of Animal Crossing", so there's no logical explanation to why time traveling is cheating.
Fair enough, but if you don't want to go check that other thread to get my view on time travelling and why I think it's cheating, don't try and tell me that it's not cheating.

Could I have a link to one of these threads?

I believe everybody time travels one way or another...they are just afraid to admit it because they think they will be shunned by the entire TBT community. I admit that I do time travel, but no more than 1 week. I usually time travel just so that I may have all my fruit grow back.

Could I have a ]http://forums.the-bell-tree.com?topic=7081034/2/

The 'debate' starts halfway down that page.

EDIT: And no bdubs, I don't time travel.

OK Jas0n.....Im not accusing anybody of TT'ing...im just saying that lotsa people lie about how they don't TT.....
Im not blaming you, because you always have a habit of starting arguments with people...and eventually outsmarting them >.>

That's fair enough but I don't see anybody lying about time travelling nor do I see any reason why they should lie. As you can see from that poll it's pretty much an even split.

I agree....im just throwing my idea out there.....

The clock was most probably implemented into the game so that people could change their time when daylight savings time kicked in, not so people could jump about all they wanted and get things before everyone else.

Besides, we never said it was hacking, we said a muted down version of hacking, aka cheating. If going to any date you like and doing stuff/getting stuff that other people can't even think about doing/getting before that actual date comes around isn't cheating then I don't know what is.

If Nintendo intended you to jump around in time so you could do things whenever you liked they wouldn't advertise the game to simulate a real-life clock, nor would they make weeds and stuff appear in your town when you jumped that far forwards.

Ok, I'm assuming this is what you're referring to, since all your posts for a few pages after that just refers to time traveling as cheating, with no reason why. As for this post...

First paragraph: I see how this could be a valid point, but as you said, that's why it was probably put in. That's not the definite reason it was.

Second paragraph: That's what you consider cheating. Not what is cheating.

Third paragraph: If Nintendo really didn't want you just changing the clock as you pleased, they would do something to prevent it, no?

First paragraph: I guess you're right there, but I still think it's more likely to be the DST thing.

Second paragraph: Maybe not, but it's not just me who would consider that cheating ;P

Third paragraph: Isn't that why weeds are there, so it's a punishment for time travelling or not playing the game for a long period of time? If they didn't want to punish people surely they would make it so things didn't change when you altered the clock, e.g. villagers moving out, weeds growing etc.

Ok, so the first two paragraphs are pretty much null & void, since they're both a matter of opinion now.

As for the weeds and people moving out, the game was programmed to every day a set amout of weeds (I believe 3?) appears in your town. If you play three days without picking any, you still get the same amount as time travelling three days. Really, the weeds and people leaving aren't a punishment for time traveling; when you time travel, the game simply speeds up the days you skip, but whatever would have happened in those days still happens.

I understand that but if they didn't mind time travelling then it wouldn't exactly be hard to make it so that when the clock is altered those things didn't happen.

I guess you're right about that, but the fact that the game continues the same way almost encourages time travelling in a way- Anything set to happen in a certain amount of time happens faster, without and real negative effects.

Meh, I guess there's no way to say whether time travelling is actually cheating or not cheating it's rather a matter of opinion and baseless facts :p

I'm still sticking to my opinion though, I think my reasons are decent enough. Better than what any other person can give me anyway.

Weeds are 10% of my fun in AC.

I've never had emptying towns as ppl say, I think that only happens when you TT by months.

Yes, true you can't time travel in real life, but in real life do you live in a town with animals and pick fruit and sell them to a racoon??

Excellent counter strike. :)

Nope, its ruined AC for me before, its not ruining it for me again.
Nintendo put in a clock for daylight savings and console errors, why is it not more regulated? Because we are not in the age where everyone has easy console internet hookup yet. But if possible, there would probably be a universal clock.
This is a bad excuse.
