It may just be me, but the winter months in this game have me feeling really... blah. Winter is not my favorite month to begin with, and I feel like none of the plants and decor really go with the white ground. This game has such beautiful bright colors and I feel like they just don't work against the snow. Nothing I place on my island this month looks good, and I really think it's because of the white color palette. I know there's some cool events coming and DIYs to get, but I really don't know how I'm going to deal with my island being pure white for another 2.5 months. Does anyone else miss their green grass?

I like the color of the trees in the snow, but the rest of the winter months is kind of gross to me as well. I think that when we can get all of the winter DIY's and decorate our islands it will be a lot better. I'm super excited for toy day so that's something to look forward to!

I used to feel like this with New Leaf. I'm not quite there with horizons, because of all the Christmas and winter decor. My town looks so pretty at night. I'm sure I will be yearning for green grass in a month or so.

Honestly I think one of the main problems I have with winter is the abundance of Christmas/Toy Day items. I don't celebrate Christmas (and therefore won't be using those items), so I feel very limited in what I have to work with to make my island work.

Oh I didn't realize that uwu my bad
Ik that there are some, like snowflake led pop up thingys that you can unlock the diy with and if you just want a winter theme that could be cool too! Maybe even go for like a foresty winter theme cause that would be beautiful. hope these ideas help c:

same, i really don't like the snow in this game just because it doesn't really match my theme and honestly i'm not really a fan of christmas either
i time travelled to april so it's cherry-blossom season and my island looks so pretty with pink trees and bright green grass ♡

i'll probably go back to toy day to get the diys and stuff but then i'm going straight to spring again because winter is just really dull imo

I'm kind of the opposite at the moment. I am loving the winter color palette and how the trees and bamboos look in the winter! It's refreshing because the muddy fall colors were starting to get to me.
While I actually quite like the late fall palette, I also love the colors trees and especially bamboo takes on in the winter!

I really don't mean to be that person, but I expected to feel like this, OP, but instead I so far love the winter season! it is inspiring my to do some island redesign and I love the cozy clothes and making some cozy looking outdoor space on my island.

Also, I get a weird satisfying brain tingly feeling from the sound of the snow crunching

I realized I didn't enjoy autumn, my favorite season irl, nearly as much for some reason.

I always have disliked winter in the game except at night and when it's actively snowing. I think sunny days are just too... bright? But I also feel that way about sunny days with snow on the ground in real life. I do think the game can be super beautiful in winter, since I've seen some gorgeous winter dream towns. I just hate putting the effort in to redecorate each season.

I do think that this is the prettiest winter of any AC games though. I love the new cozy clothes and winter decorations. Maybe it will grow on me once I redecorate!

My sister doesn't celebrate Christmas either. She is excited about the snowboy ice items.

The lowest temperature recorded anywhere near me was 52 degrees Fahrenheit so I can’t say I’m used to a white ground... but hey it’s still pretty.

I'd have to say I disagree because redecorating is kind of what keeps me playing! I find it really fun to make festive decor and sometimes it's a bit of a chore but it pays off because my friends come to my town and they get impressed (even though my town is trash)

I think I'm feeling this way because I'm totally uninspired by my town in general. I'm in the middle of a rebuild and I'm even considering just starting over. Maybe once I finish the rebuild or restart I'll be excited to decorate again!

Agreed about the bamboo. I've used it a lot in several areas and the bluish tinge it gets was a very welcome surprise!

I'm also a fan of playing at night and seeing the moonlight shimmering on the surface of the snow. As someone in the Northern Hemisphere who doesn't time travel, I am really loving the winter right now because of how different and beautiful it all is.

Anyone else know how to control which cedar trees get christmas lights on them? I didn't expect this to bother me so much.

Don't feel bad! I've been trying to do a winter forest like you suggest, but the color palette is my main issue. I don't like how all my beautiful colorful flowers look on the white ground :/. Plus, those types of flowers wouldn't be blooming in this weather anyways... I hate to be so negative because I'm sure Nintendo worked super hard on all this winter stuff but I'm really just not feeling it. :(

I honestly have been so tempted to do this. But the perfectionist in me would hate having the date on my switch different!

You don't necessarily have to celebrate it to use the decorations. After all, the game already decorates the cedars, shop, and town hall with such decorations. You can just role play that December is a festive season, and you can celebrate your own holiday and call it Festivus (Festivus for the rest of us) or something like that. You could borrow traits such as spreading holiday cheer and gift giving for your island and its residents.

This is a very cute idea. What's Christmas? We celebrate Festivus here on Honey Bay :)
