Does anyone use a brick/dumbphone or one from the 2000s?

Do you think they're better than modern smartphones? Would you consider upgrading any time soon?

I used to have a dumbphone I bought in 2011 for like, 5 years and such before I got an iPhone 4S in 2016 from my then boyfriend (it was his old and it somewhat worked so)... But yeah now I have an iPhone SE since I have to use a few apps like email and checking public transport etc. on the go a lot nowadays, so yeah.

But yeah if I hadn't the need for checking that and corresponding with people all the time I'd def have a dumbphone lol. And I hate how everyone is like "omg get that app now you finally have a smartphone"... like bruh it's MY phone not yours so stfu.

I still have the one I used when I was in 6th grade! It looked like this. I ended up having to start using a Blackberry Curve when I was in 7th grade cause my flip phone had a terrible speaker on it ad I could never hear it ringing :(

I like it because it has Wheel of Fortune Deluxe on it and it's always fun to play ^^

Same. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 right now, only because my parents insisted I get it. I don't really have the need for it except that I like to look at stuff on Pinterest and use Discord when I go places. Other than that I'd be more than happy to use a simple phone :)

I still have all my phone's, which I tend to horde. I can always activate it if I need, including my "dumbphones"

My very first one was a Sanyo brick phone. It was a tank. It lasted almost a year after I dropped it in the snow, left it in the snow for four hours and almost drove over it. Eventually water damage happened. I then put it in rubbing alcohol, and it still works.

My friend had a flip phone, legit being held together by the wires and it worked fine!

I miss T9, and the size of "dumbphones". Some things on a smart phone I like, like checking movies. I'd be happy if I had an actual t9 keyboard with an internet browser. But a girl can dream

Last time I went to get a new phone because my iphone was slowly dying, I went searching for a flip phone with a keyboard like I used to have (they were my favorite), but all they had in stores still were basic flip phones. I really didn't want a smartphone again (that iphone was my first one), but I'm glad I have one now because I no longer have a computer. My cellphone history: Nokia (a brick), basic flip phone, keyboard flip phone, sliding keyboard phone, iphone, android.

I only upgraded to a smartphone like a year or two ago because I had a lot of money and wanted something frivolous. I'll have that phone until it breaks.

I mostly only use my phone to call/receive calls, so an older phone that doesn't have apps wouldn't really be much different for me anyway...In fact, the battery on those types of phones lasted for days, especially since they're not doing loads of useless background crap I don't need them to. Better than having to charge it near daily.

The only app I do use is a manga reader and honestly, if I had an ebook or something then I wouldn't even use that either. I just don't read enough to justify buying one.

i have an android phone with apps and stuf but i hardly use it for anything but calls, i wanna fix my old blackberry coz its much easier to use for phone calls (can use it with one hand, for starters, and easier to use while driving  )

btw, happy birthday!

My first ever phone was this small rectangular phone that was smaller than my hand. I couldn't take pictures or record videos, and it came with like 5 backgrounds I could choose from. It also had a list of ringtones, there was one that was my favorite and I still remember the tune today lol but I forgot what it was called. It also had Reversi and Sudoku on it I think. I didn't know how to play either of those games but they were the only games I had lol

I also remember when I accidentally hit the Internet button and then I went into a panic because I didn't want to get charged for something I couldn't pay.

Then I had a Blackberry slide phone I think it was called, where you slide the screen up and reveal a keyboard. I also remember how I had to hit a number key a certain amount of times just to get the letter I wanted while texting. I still have it, it's somewhere in my house I just don't know where it is

But now I have an iPhone SE :)

Well I miss my Nokia 6131.

If only my Galaxy s8 was a flip.

So sad.

I have a Nokia dumbphone that I use when I visit my parents. Their numbers are the only ones saved in it lol.

No, I barely use it anyway...I hate cellphones.

Same here but my parents won't let me not have a phone. I could literally get grounded if I don't have my phone on me and my ringer turned up at all times. ^^"

It's really quite irritating.

same and my parents call for the most tiny and annoying things.. it's like bruh unless you really need me for something put it down.. i do small talk at work everyday irl with people i'm not gonna do it with you because you have nothing better to do at your work >>

So I work in technical support with cell phones, and I will admit....on cdma towers, brick phones connect more easily. So...like 3 years ago it would make sense but now carriers are switching to Volte towes, (voice over lte) whichi s basically phones using data to make phone calls. In the future, it'll be better to use smartphones. Not all towers in the us are volte towers though so we still have a little bit of time
