yes. it didn’t use to scare me, but there was a really bad fire in my apartment building last year, and the whole experience was so terrible that i think it traumatized me a bit. even just the fire alarm going off is enough to scare me now.

Oh absolutely, and I fully expect that in the future when I don't have my parents as a safety net. One can hope that never happens lol

I mean it's not on my mind, but if I ended up flying down those stairs I'd definitely be worried at the moment. It'd be an 'oh crap' moment.
