The only villager I truly find creepy is Pietro but I don't like clowns in real life so I wouldn't like any clown villager. Other than that I find them all interesting & unique. I find I'm less attracted to their design & more attracted to their personality. Some personalities I just don't click with so I don't have a lot of them in my towns. I don't hate those villagers but their not ones I'd actively seek to have.
Does this bother anyone else?

I felt the exact same way about Pietro. Then he moved to one of my towns and I fell in love with him. He's a sweet heart and I was able to overlook the clown thing.
Doesn't both me. I think some villagers have some awful designs. But just because I think they're bad, doesn't mean others will too. Just like some people will have looks others don't like, so too will the villagers. It's varied. Pietro doesn't bother me, but as we've seen in this thread, he does bother some people for example. People have different tastes in what they like, and that's fine.

Yes I hates this. I think it's mainly newcomers to the game though. Due to the fact that they may not have played before they deem villagers thee names yet once they've had them in their town for awhile they realise that looks don't matter in villagers usually unless your town is themed. Also, usually starters theme their town very tightly. What I mean by this is they'll search everything up and theme their town like Galaxy. Where they will only have certain characters and not letting loose. I know this may sound hypocritical due to my signature but on another town of mine I had an 'unpopular' theme where I only sported unpopular villagers. Sorry I've ranted on.

I don't get offended because they are just pixels. If someone thinks a villager is ugly, it's fine. In fact, I like a bunch of the "ugly" villagers. It's a matter of personal taste and it isn't the same as saying a real person is ugly. No one's feelings are really getting hurt.

I'm not bothered by it. To be fair the game does have a lot of different character designs, so it's only normal that not everyone finds all of them "not ugly".
There are a lot of characters that I honestly hate the design of, but for some reason those are the ones I usually end up loving the most when they live in my town, because our relationship kind of "started at the bottom now were here (lol)". Like, I love it when I hate a characters design, but I still decide to keep them in my town, and we end up with this "bond" that makes me love them.
