I know animal crossing is supposed to be an easy going game, but I’m already seeing people make posts on Twitter and Reddit about how they feel pressured to time travel. Guys animal crossing isn’t a competition! If your island is taking just a little longer to come together it really doesn’t matter.

I predict that 1 month from now no one will be able to tell who started the game a couple days early or who time traveled based on their island progress. Most people will have the museum, nooks cranny, and able sisters and also have at least obtained the option to spend Nook miles on terraforming. Just play everyday if you can and enjoy the game. And don’t feel bad if you’re not that creative

I agree with this post. Enjoy NH at your own pace. It's OK to rush things if that's really what you want to do, but if you're doing that just because others are... Please don't. You probably won't enjoy things in the longterm if you do, or might get burnout from playing. Animal Crossing is a marathon, not a race.

As someone who TT's and genuinely has friends who all agree that it makes it more fun/entertaining for us I do agree that people outside of this group need not do it simply because they may feel stress and/or pressure to keep up o/ I have always TT'ed and probably always will but reminder to all just enjoy at a pace you're happy/comfortable w/ <3

I made a decision not to time travel right now. It's a bit annoying being unable to donate the museum 2 days straight but I just stockpile beside, no big deal.

There's plenty to do with just stockpiling supplies and exchanging fruit. It makes each unlock more surprising. I just got emotes!

Thank you for this, I’ve been feeling really anxious seeing how far ahead a lot of people are and pressured to keep up even though I love AC for being peaceful and relaxing. Seeing this made me feel a lot better <3

Thanks for posting your comment. I think that perspective will help people. Yes, TT if you want to! But don't TT because you feel like you have to to keep up with other people.

I personally hate TT’ing it feels like cheating and ruins it for me so I’ve been playing at my own pace, that’s what the game is all about.
Make your island for yourself not anyone else

I know people have waited LONG ENOUGH for this game to come out. And those that are time travelling are just going to be bored more easily than those who don't.

Yes, not being able to do things you wanted to do until 1 day or more seems unfair to some, but you do have to try and get everything down to be prepared for the next day, such as racking up bells for your home loan and gather plenty of materials for whatever item you need to craft them with so you'll have quite plenty of stuff to do while rinsing and repeating every day to make this game feel like a breeze.

To each their own, it seems like.

I never understood why people feel the need to TT. I feel like itll be the same people who in a month say they finished everything and there's nothing to do. I enjoy waking up in the morning to see what's gonna happen.

honestly i lowkey want to TT to get museum unlocked but I know I can just do mystery travels to pile up on items.for.future crafting, and I can collect more nook miles for.future spends

thank you for the post!

I definitely won't time travel, ever, but I also understand why sometimes people do. for me, it's a game that's meant to be played a little bit every day, and the best part is seeing your island progress as you do. plus, it's a game, so you gotta find your own way to have fun. TT or not, as long as we enjoy playing it's all good!

I only TT if I know I wont be able to play the next day, which some of my school days being more packed than others I don't want to sacrifice my school work for acnh

I just feel like TT is a never ending cycle haha. You're always gonna hit a wall where not much more can be done that day.

I actually restarted and caught back up last night, haha. I accidentally let my impatience pressure me into time travelling to get the museum built a day early and the game was just like "TIME TO PROGRESS SUPER FAR!" and it made me feel super guilty haha

On the plus side, I got apples as my native fruit and a way better map out of it

I do feel a bit bad because some of my friends are "ahead" of me if you want to call it that, but I'm doing my best not to time travel at all this time around. I have plenty of stuff to do when I wait for the next day to roll around! Can never have too many bells c:

I can understand why would people want to skip the first few days. The first day is especially "brutal". You're stuck on this one tiny quarter of your island and basically all you can do is pluck weeds, fish or catch bugs. But it also makes each new day all the more exciting because new stuff opens up.

I love AC as a chill place I can visit throughout each day, and letting it progress and unlock naturally.

I TT'd a lot in NL, after joining this community and seeing how people used it.

For NH my goal is to play each day and enjoy watching the island come together. It's a slow game but that's it's intention.

I don't have any issue with it, but there are *some* people (in general not particularly TBT) that are treating it as a race and I'm honestly not impressed at all. I'm having more fun interacting with the people who are also currently on day 2 and enjoying the experience together :)

I'm not TT'ing. I want to experience everything unfold as it would in real time. That's what makes the game special to me.
But everyone should play however they want. If TT'ing is your thing then go ahead.
I'm on day 3 and I'm getting the museum and Nookling shop tomorrow.
I paid off my house loan and I'm just starting to put in some furniture and little fish/bug pets. :)

I feel exactly the same way.
After I joined TBT while playing New Leaf, I started getting obsessed with getting the most beautiful town and acquiring all of my "dreamies".
This time I'm taking it slowly. I still want to have a beautiful island and some of my beloved villagers but I'll go about it gradually. I plan to play this game for many years, after all. :)

Thank you for this post! From what I've seen on here and Discord, everyone is waaaay ahead of me. I just paid off my getaway package, I seemingly haven't unlocked hourly music yet and I haven't been given the option to visit random islands. I feel a bit behind, but at the same time I know that I enjoy Animal Crossing best when I just play for an hour or so a day and don't try to grind through it.

I absolutely love the pacing of the game. Was able to get the ladder today, as well, create and decorate the three spots for potential villagers. I'm still uncertain how/when to use Amiibos, but I'm sure it'll come soon.
