Don’t feel pressured!

As with most things - it is not the act that is bad, it is the reason for doing it that can be bad.

If you are TTing (or not) because that is what you want to do - then you are playing the game perfect!

If you are TTing (or not) because you want to fit in - then you are doing it for the wrong reason, and therefore I would consider you playing the game "wrong".

Did you TT just because you were impatient or wanted to see what happened - then you are human and playing the game perfect!

If you are racing because you want to fit in - then you are doing it for the wrong reason, and therefore I would consider you playing the game "wrong"

And the reason that "wrong" is in quotes is because the game allows you to TT, or race, or not - so it is not wrong from game play as the game allows you to do it (without exploiting a cheat delay timing issue in the game, which I consider bugs in a game, not actually allowed). And if the game allows you do it with minimal effort, then they had at least considered it, and therefore you are playing the game correctly - even if it is different how others play or how the game would prefer you play.

TLDR: Play how you want to play because you want to, not because others are, and that will ensure that you are then playing the perfect way for Animal Crossing New Horizons!!!

To be honest time traveling takes the fun out of it for everyone they should really do more to prevent this sort of thing. I don't time travel myself and because of that reason I often see friends with much more advancements and it makes my own progress look somewhat poor

i timetravelled quite often in new leaf to unlock shops and stuff and i was expecting to want to travel in new horizons as well, but because of the mileage program and many new features of new horizons, i haven't found myself wanting to or needing to time travel at all! i'm honestly surprised and i'm enjoying it a lot more this way :D

i do think that it's important to avoid reading things like discord and some forums because it can feel like people are boasting about their progress- i started yesterday morning and so a number of people are ahead of me, just remember that the game and the island is yours and to enjoy it however you like!

I agree. Wish it wasn't in the game. What's the point of the real time sync? I think it would be so much cooler seeing everyone's day to day progress, seeing what random items they got that day and all that jazz.

I played New Leaf both ways. On some playthroughs I progressed naturally, on other playthroughs, I time traveled. Each had their pros and cons for me. At this point in New Horizons, I'm not planning to time travel. I like the joy that the easy going pace that playing naturally brings to me. I feel a certain excitement waking up each morning, wondering what the day is going to bring for my island.

Im trying not to time travel this time around and being more chill with what villagers I have but maybe in the future I’m not against it just overdid it with new leaf lol

I agree! I know waiting is super hard, but it make me even more happier, when something is finally finished (like my museum tomorrow, hopefully).

The game is more fun day-by-day anyway, if you get everything all at once you have no reason to keep on going. Now you get to play a little bit each day and you can grind things that time travelers have no time for. Play at your pace.

i just like being at the same place in the game as all my friends :) luckily none of us are time traveling so we can enjoy the experience together!

I agree, people should never feel the need to time travel to fit in with those that choose to.

After I joined this forum years ago I time traveled to get all the shops in New Leaf because I was curious and I regretted it all in the end that I didn't just wait and go with the flow of time. This time around in New Horizons I plan to go at my own pace and I couldn't be happier with where I am right now. It makes me look forward to every morning.
