As with most things - it is not the act that is bad, it is the reason for doing it that can be bad.
If you are TTing (or not) because that is what you want to do - then you are playing the game perfect!
If you are TTing (or not) because you want to fit in - then you are doing it for the wrong reason, and therefore I would consider you playing the game "wrong".
Did you TT just because you were impatient or wanted to see what happened - then you are human and playing the game perfect!
If you are racing because you want to fit in - then you are doing it for the wrong reason, and therefore I would consider you playing the game "wrong"
And the reason that "wrong" is in quotes is because the game allows you to TT, or race, or not - so it is not wrong from game play as the game allows you to do it (without exploiting a cheat delay timing issue in the game, which I consider bugs in a game, not actually allowed). And if the game allows you do it with minimal effort, then they had at least considered it, and therefore you are playing the game correctly - even if it is different how others play or how the game would prefer you play.
TLDR: Play how you want to play because you want to, not because others are, and that will ensure that you are then playing the perfect way for Animal Crossing New Horizons!!!
