I think that most people are getting burned out from the guessing since nintendo has been spookily, annoyingly quiet on this game, so I do understand how people are getting so crotchety about it. BUT the sheer amount of threads that revolve around 'this game will be awful because _______" and the like, are getting on my last nerves.
We didn't know about the switch lite until what? 2 weeks before it came out? it could be a pattern. I don't know.
We still don't know anything new, every trailer and leak has been analyzed to the fullest.
All we ask, is just a little more info, Nintendo!
I am honestly not that surprised about how quiet they are but I also don't think that it is any different from how they were with new leaf. Nintendo has released a pretty decent amount of information from New faces, new hair, varied skin tones, autosaving, improved graphics, island theme, ability to place objects anywhere, villagers building their houses up as well at their own pace, choosing where you place villager homes, 8 player multiplayer, new path system, new animal clothing types, being able to play at the same time as your sibling or friend, placing houses on the beach, crafting, fruit power-ups, new flowers, new in-game currency/goals, and so on. I just think it has been so long since the last main installment of animal crossing that people are expecting too much and at the same time nothing to be different. We have also been able to watch very very very early/beta gameplay at E3 which allowed us to see the mechanics of the game which they don't always show for every single game.
It feels less like everyone being impatient and more like a lot of people either not wanting to justify buying a switch for this game, feelings that it needs to be the best thing ever since it has been so many years and anything less is inferior to new leaf, fear that it is no longer an "animal crossing" game, and various other random hysteric beliefs based on lack of personal knowledge or fear that the game won't be good despite the long wait time.
I may be the only one who thinks this but we have gotten a major amount of information and honestly the only thing missing for me is what a "finished" looking island would be which in sure we will get in the next direct.
The amount of threads focused on negative aspects of the game that are not even confirmed or would ever exist in the first place has made me wish there were other sites aside from bell tree that focus solely on animal crossing. Nintendo has literally bent over backwards and provided fans with almost every single feature that we have begged for over the years and all anyone seems to think about is possible issues that honestly most likely won't be issues at all. It's fine to be cautious about how you spend your money but it's ridiculous that most of the forum is complaints and debates on whether it is worth it rather than focusing on all the amazing changes Nintendo has made.
