yeah, people have been reporting this all week but it hasnt been stickied and with how quickly this forum moves I assume not everyone is seeing these topics

I still see people trading villagers over at Nook's Cranny so it seems many people don't know.
Trading villagers should be halted for the time being or many people will get glitches.

I dont think its happening to everyone! But still a risk of it happening. It didn't happen to me when I moved Gayle out, her plot was fine. But Pompom's house got messed up for some reason after I made that trade happen and I have no clue why!

Yeah i was trading too, and after what happened to me this morning i am not gonna continue until nintendo does something about it.

I checked the thread earlier and there was someone with a green username browsing the thread. I think people with green usernames are mods? So I think they do know.

Yes, I moved in multiple amiibo villagers and I had no issues. It's when another person is involved in trading the villager that the game bugs out x_x

This is strange since I’ve had people adopt several villagers from me with no issues. It seems like somebody you traded with had a glitch and passed it on to you. I read the plot glitch can be passed by voided villagers too. Did Monty come from one of their towns?

this is a really scary glitch - not sure exactly what triggers it since some people are not affected while others are. i've seen a couple people say they've encountered this by moving in their own amiibo villagers too, which is concerning. really hope that nintendo fixes this soon, won't be doing any sort of villager trades or moving in my amiibos until then just to be safe which is frustrating

I think that might be it, as it's not happening to everyone. And no Monty didn't- he came from my game as a random assigned villager onto the plot after Gayle left. Which is why I'm confused why Gayle's plot didn't have any issues but Pompom's did. So I guess Pompom carried the glitch as I got her from someone else's island.

I’m sorry this happened to you! I’m just trading villagers for tickets/bells now because it seems it’s the safest way to get villagers now.
