DS suitcase problems

Okay so I'm wanting to move over a character from Wild World over to City folk and for whatever reason the ds isn't picking up the ds suitcase download. I've tried two different ds's and two different wild world carts and its not working. If I'm playing cityfolk and say I want to go out (via the gate) and I select ds suitcase, then my ds can find the ds suitcase download just fine. Any idea?

Do you have an older DS? A couple people I know (including me) with older DS's are having this problem.

If you want a char from WW to CF then start a new char and it will ask for the DS thing.

Nope not an older ds. At the menu it asks me what I want to do so I instantly select ds suitcase...

ah it worked now...had to go in through new character...darn I didnt get to bring the crown that was on my head over...
