DS Suitcase question

Here is what happened. I used the DS suitcase and went to an another Wii and played on it. I left it on and went to eat. When I came back to it the Wii was shut off and someone was watching the television. My question is, is there a way that I can get my items back or are they lost forever?

I see. Well, thank you for the reply.

To reedstr16: It isn't too bad. Just don't make the same mistake I made. It is basically like playing in your town, except it is set like as if you are playing Wi-Fi. (Example: You can't go to the city on your friend's Wii.)

The problem was that the Wii was shut off while I was eating dinner and I didn't get my character back on my DS yet.
