So I noticed that none of the places that list the egg stuff listed a price for selling. They only ever listed the selling price for eggs (200 bells each). So I tried it myself and was pleasantly surprised - the price is double whatever the eggs requirement is.
So for example, if it takes 2 eggs (which would normally sell for 400 bells), the item sells for 800 bells. It does not appear to make a difference what eggs are used, and the high end clothing is a way to churn through the crafting quickly.
Now this is not to say that I am not on the bandwagon that I am growing to hate this event (I am starting to hear balloons even when not playing the game
and do not get me started about fish), this is at least an easy way to get some decent bells with minimum effort (especially early in the game) - you are going to get the eggs regardless, might was well maximize the return!!
Another way is to sell weed only items - you get 100 bells for every 5 weeds it takes to make the item (so 5 weeds items will you get 100 bells, 10 weeds items gets you 200 bells, etc.). The island tours always gets me at least 50 weeds and again it is free (no resources needed to harvest).
