Error 018-0510 - please help

Not sure if it's the right place to post this thread - feel free to move it if needed.

I've been getting this error while trying to go to other towns (two different towns) AND while trying to have people (two different people) come to my town. This has been going on since yesterday night. Before that, everything worked fine (I even traded with someone yesterday afternoon).

I've tried turning my router on/off, resetting it, clearing my 3DS connection settings, flipping my wireless switch off/on, restarting my 3DS and router, and even followed the steps on the following link: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/results.jsp?error_code=018-0512&system=3DS&locale=lang - nothing worked.

Has anyone else gotten this problem before and managed to fix it? If so, please let me know what you did.

Also, would anyone mind trying to come to my town to see if this problem occurs with everyone I try to connect with?

Oh god, I had a problem like that once. :c Thankfully, it only lasted for a day, but I had won an auction for Erik and a cycling thread had Curlos, I couldn't adopt either of them. I guess the only thing I can tell you to is wait until tomorrow, maybe it'll fix itself?

That really sucks. :c I was supposed to trade with a few people today but it didn't work, I feel bad for wasting their time... Hopefully it'll work tomorrow.

I think if you try to just visit someone more than once, it gets back to normal.

Each time I tried to visit someone, I tried at least 5 times and still got the error message. :/

That's wierd. I know someone who just tried to visit me a bunch of times and it finally worked. Does your 3DS see that your online when you go into Friends' list or if you have internet connection?

Yes, the internet connection works: I can add people on friends list + connection test goes fine + everything works on the internet browser.

I can see the town I try to visit in the list of available towns, I get the "the train should be arriving soon" message... but then the error happens before the train comes.

All I can say is that you might to try to have your 3DS near your router and keep on flicking the switch. Keep trying!

Should be in fine in a couple days the max. You might not want to overdo it and try to change anything up as that could result in even worse. Gl!

Hm unusual. Try flusing your DNS cache or reset your wifi settings on the 3DS. It is likely to be an incompatability between the two routers. Might need to wait a while.

Already tried - now just looking for someone I can test it with. If it's an incompatability between the routers, does that mean I can never connect with those people?
