And I want an in-detail explination, not just 'He/She is cute" or something like that.

Hans is by far one of my favorite villagers, and he's one I see is a villager people don't think highly of

Let me tell you my experiances with this guy to try and explain why I love this guy so much. First off in New Leaf, I had him as a random move in, on the edge of a cliff. Not much of a front yard, so I was curious as to who it was, and saw it was a guy named 'Hans'. I didn't know who he was and felt dissapointed I didn't get a familiar face. However the next day, I decided to go say 'hi' to him at the very least, and wouldn't you know it, the dude turned out to be a Yeti! I talked to him, and after a few days he started to climb the rankigs of my favorite villagers for his fun and entertaining personality. Once day he moved without telling me prior, and I was heartbroken. I have since restarted the town, and am working on getting a good town again. Hans is one of the greatest vllagers because of how much of a surprise it was to first see him plop his house down, as well as having such a lovable personality and design of one of my favorite cryptids. I really am happy to have him back for New Horizons, and from what i heard villagers will ALWAYS talk it over with you before moving. So, Hans is here to stay!

i really vibe with hornsby. i had no idea he existed until he moved into my island! when i saw his name on the land plot i thought he sounded kinda ugly but when i googled him i found that he was actually kinda cute ! i just find everything about him so endearing and innocent. i would protect hornsby with my life.

Kiki and Ribbot were in all three of my towns - GC, WW, and CF, so I was attached to them and they were my primary dream villagers for New Leaf. They are both still in my town, and now I love them even more and have moved them in to my island.

Ok here we go

So I started a new New Leaf town 3 years ago. I was pretty excited to see who else would move in. My first plot I saw was O'Hare. I was familiar with him because my cousin had him, and I thought he was pretty cute. And he stayed. All of my starter villagers ended up moving away, and he was still there. I also loved his funny but also sweet personality. He was also the first villager I befriended, and I got a lot of pictures of him. Eventually though it turned into an obsession. I loved the little guy. And he's now in my New Horizons island and he's never leaving. Plus he fits with the whole deserted island theme :)

Wolfgang has been my favorite since Wild World, 2005.

He looks like an animated version of my beloved german shepherd I lost over 20 years ago, so having Wolfgang in every town is my way of keeping a part of my dog with me. :)

The first time I saw Wolfgang outside was around 3.00am. I didn't know a thing about the game back then, and when I saw he was carrying a shovel, it actually occurred to me that he might be out burying bodies. O_O

He then came over to me and said "Take my exotic bureau, don't ask any questions!"

I thought, Why? Is it stolen?
I honestly had no idea what the game was about, so anything was possible in my mind at that point.

Then after speaking to him in daylight hours I grew to like him and his quirky gruffness. ^_^

i have lots of favourites but rn i think my #1 is audie - while she certainly is gorgeous, i really like her because she’s special; she’s the first peppy wolf and was named after the grandma who put in 3500+ hours in new leaf. on top of that, she just has really nice vibes and i love her aha

This was way before his popularity blew up but Marshal stole my heart the moment he moved right next to my house in New Leaf randomly. There wasn’t plot resetting yet that time and if I had a choice I wouldn’t have wanted to have a neighbor so close to my home. However, I fell under his spell. We became so close that every time I logged into my game, the moment I walk out my door, the first thing I do is look for him. In NL, most villager dialogues are repetitive but my Marshal says a lot of different things compared to the other Smugs in my town (I also had Julian but we didn’t really become close). He tells other players in my town that we’re best friends. That he’s smiling because I gifted him something that day. That I’m his best friend so they should be jealous. That we’re gonna be best friends forever. Things like that. My 3DS are full of screenshots of all the cute things he says about me. That smol little white fluffy marshmallow boy owned my heart so much that even years after when making other towns in NL, no other villager is allowed to put a house up near mine EXCEPT for him. I’m normally not fond of super popular villagers and want variety in my towns but he’s always the one constant. I have to have him beside me. I don’t care if he got so hyped. He’s my best boy. :) Always will be.

Phoebe is my current favorite. I like her personality alot. She has given me at least one recipe or item every day.

Looking online is says "ostrich" for what animal she is but I call bs on that haha. Shes either a bird of paradise, or a Phoenix. I'm leaning Phoenix both because her names spelling starts the same, and her "catchphrase" is SPARKY.

But in saying all that...

Gabi is starting to win me over just due to her sheer cheeryness and glowing attitude (always calling me "bestie" etc) So it's really hard to pick between them now....

I've always been attached to Francine. I just loved her attitude and she was always so sassy. As a kid, I would go around and hit all my villagers with nets just to see them get angry, but I never did it to Francine because I just loved her too much. When I found out she had a sister I was shook, so I had to get Chrissy into my town-

Let's just say Francine > Chrissy and leave it at that lol
i'm joking i love them both, sorta maybe

lucky was my best friend in wild world, which was my first animal crossing game. his design doesn't appeal to me really (it is a cute concept but i tend to lean towards more cutesy designs) but i just fell in love with him in that game. i think he was the only villager in that town that i talked to every day other than alli (another fav!) i was upset when i lost the game cart with the town they were in ;o;

merengue is my other ultimate favorite because tbh,,,..she's me in villager form lmao big pink and sweet....

I had (have) Bob in Wild World. His house is right next to mine, and I was always absolutely obsessed with him. I had no idea that he was so popular. I bordered our houses together with a little pattern I made of him and planted pink roses in between. This was 15+ years ago lol. He has always been my favorite villiager, so I had to get him in New Leaf too. I love the lazy villagers in New Horizons and am REALLY hoping to find Bob soon. I have 60k nook miles saved up to try to hunt him down hehe.

Mathilda - She was a starting villager for my very first town in New Leaf and since the beginning, she has been the sweetest person to me! She was always like a mother to me, always giving me stuff and offering medicine when I got stung by bees. I love how her baby also expresses like Mathilda does, and I consider her kid to be another resident of my town. Sadly, I don't have that old town anymore, but I recently bought Mathilda so she's in my new New Leaf town!

Hazel - I, at first, despised Hazel! I thought she wasn't appealing and I was hoping for a better looking squrriel. But after having her for a while, she grew on me, and I actually think she's super cute! I'm glad she's rocking that natural unibrow! She's great!

Phil - When I was 13, I REALLY liked StarFox. I also REALLY liked Animal Crossing (as I just recently got it) so I thought: hey! What if I combined them! While googling around, I found Phil and found out that his design may have been inspired from Falco (My favorite StarFox character). I had him in an old town and I loved him!

Fang - After two days of being in my New Leaf town, he wanted to move. I didn't even know it was possible that could happen. I let him move, I only wanted him in my town so I could get the cranky PWPs but honestly, I didn't care THAT much. But then once, we had a conversation, and it kinda bordered on toxic masculinity and how some men like to prove that they're tough by being cruel.
I have his exact words because I screenshot the last bit of the conversation: "Kindness! Men these days always lack kindness! It's much cooler to be kind to others than go around showing off how strong you are! ... I got all worked up without meaning to! It's an important lesson for you to learn! Don't think poorly of me!" And that is literally the most woke thing I've ever heard from a game about catching bugs and paying off your home loan. I ended up convincing him not to move and he's still in my New LEaf town to this day!
He also says silly things like how he'll punch rain in the knee if it doesn't stop, he's great.

i really vibe with hornsby. i had no idea he existed until he moved into my island! when i saw his name on the land plot i thought he sounded kinda ugly but when i googled him i found that he was actually kinda cute ! i just find everything about him so endearing and innocent. i would protect hornsby with my life.

Omg was just about to comment about Hornsby! He was on one of the islands and I asked him to come because he was kinda cute so why not.. but he's so sweet! He always talks about how we're gonna be bffs and his little sweater is so cute  I would also protect Hornsby w/ my life

Velma - I have to admit, when I first saw Velma in New Leaf I judged hard. I didn't like her. I thought she was a bit ugly and I even ran around and thwacked her with a net and shoved her. I couldn't wait until she moved out. She is the first villager I actively tried to get to move out, that is how much I didn't like her. Then I read on the forums that the best way to move a villager out is to become friends with them. So, I started chatting to her and being nice to her. That's when it happened. She was standing outside of her house and I talked to her. That's when she told me that she had seen them. Mysterious objects that come from the sky. UFOs! They exsist! Those Unidentified Flying ORANGES! I nearly fell over laughing so hard. She became my pal ever since and I even planted an orange tree outside of her house. I think of her often now that oranges are my town fruit in New Horizons. She would love it on my island.

Beardo - Everybody hates Beardo. I hated Beardo! He was in my brother's town and I told him about his super ugly bear. Then he moved out of my brother's town and planted his house in my town! I couldn't wait for him to move out. I started talking to him and he was ok. Nothing too special, right? I gave him a fossil and he asked me to come to his house. I went over and there it was, displayed in the corner! That's when I realized that he had everything a detective needed in his house. Just like Sherlock Holmes even down to the classical KK slider music playing in the background. So I started liking him a little. But, he wasn't a favorite yet. A few days passed and out of the blue, he sent me a letter. It was something about staring up at the stars and wondering if I was staring up at the same stars and if I thought they were pretty too. It was just so touching and I just happened to get that letter after I had a really bad day at work. And he just grew on me. I was really upset when after not playing for a while he was in boxes and I couldn't stop him from moving out.

When I was a kid I fell in love with Stitches. I don't know why, I don't even like teddy bears (though the villagers are [SUB][SUP]cute[/SUP][/SUB]). I just thought his personality and gimmick were adorable. And there's just something about him not having real eyes.

I think love is too strong a word, but I really like Curt. He was the only villager in WW to beat me in the fishing tourney, TWICE. Also caught one of the few fish I hadn't caught yet at the time, the Coelancanth. He seriously stumped me, and now I have mad respect for him.
