I don’t think I could pick just one, but these are definitely my favs:
- Vibri from Vib Ribbon: when I first saw footage of this game, I was absolutely in love with the aesthetic! Vibri is such a creative design, looking at her makes me feel at ease, and nostalgic in away I can’t really describe. She has an adorable voice and is one of my favorite animals in her base form, and all her forms are very creative and well designed. Her eyes remind me of characters I used to draw as a kid called “crazy people” so she is an honorary crazy person in my eyes XD
- Zoogina from Zoog Disney: I somehow stumbled across clips of this Y2K Disney Channel block on youtube, I just think the characters are so cute and funky. There are actually two iterations of them, and I like both but especially the second one. Zoogina’s design is so fun and I think it encapsulates the “wacky pomo” era. she reminds me of a couple OCs I had as a kid, I totally would’ve wanted to look like her back then.
- Cure Felice/Hanami Kotoha: so kind of a funny story, before I knew of this character I was playing a dressup game called Glitter Cure and made a magical girl persona, then one day I saw a picture if this character and she looked so much like the sona I’d made! It turns out that game was made with the pretty cure assets so you could mix and match to make your own pretty cure. But I was like “she’s so me!!” Admittedly I haven’t seen the anime, but I know she has so many cute forms as she grows from a baby in the anime. She is definitely my number one dream character to cosplay!

My favorite character in any media is obviously the Pokemon Cosmog. It's been my comfort character for almost 8 years and I don't think that's ever changing.
As for just mascots I think it's the Slime from Dragon Quest. They're memorable, cute, and have an amusing speech pattern when spoken to in the games.

I love threads like this because it gives me an excuse to rave about Kieran! 
He's a character from the Pokémon Scarlet/Violet DLC. I don't want to spoil any of the story so let's just say that I personally find him relatable! I also think he's very cute (and his Indigo Disk makeover...omg...I LOVE it!!) He's the greatest Pokémon character and I stand by it firmly.

- PaRappa Rappa (from PaRappa the Rapper): His optimism is very infectious and I also think he's cute. :3
- Ogerpon (also from ScarVio DLC): It's also my fave Pokémon! I liked its backstory when it was revealed to me, and I also find it relatable (and cute lol) like with Kieran.

They became my favorite fictional characters when I was very young (maybe 4 or 5 years old). If either are available in a Mario game, I don't play anybody else. It's been like that for my entire life.

The character I relate to most from any show is Gabby from Disventure Camp, so naturally, she is my favorite. I'd be surprised if anyone here knew who she was, but this thread is an excuse to talk about her.
She's bipolar, like myself. A lot of her actions throughout the series I could relate to on a personal level. Her now girlfriend's words to her during her elimination in the first season really spoke to me. It gave me the slightest bit of reassurance that it's possible for someone to accept you despite your mental struggles.
She had lots of character growth in the third season and has shown on more than one occasion to be nice towards those that wronged her, and even forgiving them, as well. It's a big difference in behavior from the first season when she lashed out on multiple contestants.
She was able to redeem herself towards the end of the third season. It makes me think that maybe there is room for redemption? I used to think there wasn't, and that I'd always be the horrible person people thought I was.
