I love Gladys! Super underrated and beautiful 
I second that Gladys is underrated. She is so cute. ❤
As for other villagers, when I saw Savannah on a mystery island, I thought she was cute, and I'd just have her stay a while. But, I've never let her leave. She's very sweet, and she loves to sing. With others, by herself, in the sun, in the rain, in the plaza, at the river, you name it.
❤Goldie is adorable (though I haven't had her on my island), Poppy is very sweet, and I have a very soft spot for Rhonda.
answering this is lowkey painful since the normal villagers own my entire heart and i love all of them, but my #1 favourite definitely has to be lolly. i haven’t had her since new leaf, but she’s genuinely the sweetest lil baby and is crazy adorable! you can’t go wrong with having her. 
but if lolly isn’t your cup of tea, i also recommend margie, skye, goldie, kiki, coco, gayle, norma, maggie, fauna, poppy or merengue!

There are so many pretty normals, but my favourite would be Annalisa. She is perfect from her species down to her colors and facial expressions

I just realized how there are quite a number of Normal villagers that are adorable and likable. lol I'm trying to have villagers of different personalities on my island, and it's hard to just pick one Normal villager! There's June, Lily, Goldie, Sylvana, MAPLE!
Oh my god Maple, she's so cute. It's so hard to choose between Maple and June! June feels so cuddly, the way she's shy, and her cute Hawaiian fashion style, but MAPLE! Maple with her sometimes nerdy glasses that enhances her adorkable-ness! omg! And that fluffy hair on her forehead! lol And don't get me started on Maple's eyes, how it's just these cute black pupils with a single white dot on each of them. Oh, so pure. June's baby-blues are great as well, especially when they're far bigger and more bubbly than Maple's! Big eyes are just cuter somehow.
It's definitely hard to choose, but seeing how I accidentally got Maple moving onto my island one time... I think I'll choose her instead. It's fate!

Oh I love normal villagers so much. I have a few favourites- Skye being the ultimate normal villager. But there is also Molly, Gayle, Lily, Maple, Melba.

I've grown to like Jambette...mostly because she gets so much hate. I think a lot of the hated villagers have become my favorites though. I'm like: "It's ok Rodney, no one liked me in High School either." x3 I know they are just digital, but it kicks me in the feels. I want to rescue all of the unloved villagers and give them all a cupcake and a hug. Q.Q
Back to the topic though, as for Normals that are a little less disliked, but perhaps undervalued: Kitt. I think she's adorable, and her neutral fur color means she looks cute in most of the gifts you give her. :3

Yeah, I felt kinda bad about moving out Jambette, especially when she's one of the first villagers I found on Mysterious Islands at the start of the game. It's hard to really dislike her at all because she's so nice. lol
I don't know. It's just kinda hard to choose sometimes which villager you want to keep because there are only 10 spots. If I ever get a new island, I might try to get all less popular ones too onto it. lol
