With only 4 in total, the octopus villagers are the smallest group of villagers in Animal Crossing. Octavian is also the only one that appear in every title so far and he was also the only octopus villager until Dōbutsu no Mori e+ back then, while Inkwell was and still is the newest added octopus villager who is also one of those villagers based of another Nintendo game; in his case, the design as well as house are based of the game Splatoon.
And with these little facts beside, I would like to know which octopus villager is your favorite and why.
I used to like Zucker, because I found his design (probably like many others) adorable, however, as of New Horizons, I don't really care so much for him and the other octopus villagers anymore. I don't know why, they are just not interesting for me.
I like Octavian and Zucker but the fact that Zucker is ironically a takoyaki and he's a Lazy, which means he loves food, just makes him the whole package for me.
My favorite Octopus villager is Octavian. I've been fond of him since I was a kid when I first saw him in the Player's Guide for the GameCube game. My best friend at the time, whose town I would visit when we hung out together, actually had him as a resident of his town for a while. At some point during one of those visits, Octavian decided that he wanted to move into my town, much to my friend's aggravation and my happiness. He was a resident of my GameCube town for a good amount of time, but eventually moved away, which was a shame. Fortunately, I reacquired him years later in my main New Leaf town and he has been a resident ever since.
Marina is also good, but I prefer Octavian due to his Cranky personality and the space theme he has going on with his shirt and the interior decoration of his home. Marina, while fine, is comparatively bland or, well, Normal.
Very much not a fan of Zucker since, while I like more unique designs, I'm generally not fond of the food-based villagers like Zucker, Ketchup, Tangy, etc. Inkwell, meanwhile, is okay but not particularly interesting and the interior decoration of his house is pretty boring.
Hopefully we get more Octopus villagers in the future, though it would be nice to keep them more limited than the rest of the species.
Zucker!!
I love that he looks like takoyaki and I've always want him in my village. I also like his lazy, chil personality. I finally had a chance to get him in my town through this forum.
Octavian is cool, too. I was able to have him move in in my old Wild World Town. I liked his space themed home and the fact that octopus villagers are rare.
Marina is really cute and I'd probably rank her second in my favorite of octopus villagers, right after Zucker.
Inkwell looks a bit too much like Octavian to me and I just prefer Octavian more if I had to pick between the too. Cranky villagers are always a plus to any village.
I love Zucker, he's a little sushi treat in his house. Unfortunately, he moved away...welp. At least I can place a hot spring in his house place. Actually, if you go to my park, you can see where he used to live.
I would have to say Octavian. I've never been fortunate enough to have an octopus villager in my town (I really want to see their walking animation), but Octavian has the cutest angry face and he's got that cranky personality that I love, so he wins out.
I love Marina and Zucker best, so those two are definitely my favorites. Not too fond of Octavian or Inkwell. I do have Octavian's Amiibo card and have had him in my town for awhile, but he's OK I guess. I like Marina because she was really nice to me when I had her in one of my towns and she is soo cute in pink. Zucker, I'm not sure why I like him and why he's a favorite, but perhaps it's just his design? I don't know.
Zucker is just too cute. That little mouth and those black eyes! Sadly I have never had him in one of my towns. I hope he gets added to Pocket Camp or I am able to get him in New Horizons!
Also, there needs to be way more octopus villagers! They are so cool and fun, yet there are only 4 right now?? Hopefully we get some new ones when New Horizons comes out.
i would have to say marina! i'm not too big on any of the octopi currently (hopefully there'll be more to my taste in new horizons!) but you can't really go wrong with a simple pink design. the yellow on her cheeks was a good design choice as well, though i may be biased since pink and yellow is one of my favourite colour combinations lol. her little hair tuft is a nice touch as well.
i feel like zucker was a good idea but something about his design puts me off... i'm not sure if it's the fleshy coloured bits or his off-coloured freckles. the latter kind of reminds me of lotus pod seeds so i'm really not a fan, i think he'd look much better if they were brown.
I actually had Marina in my City Folk town. My brother and I thought she was super cute, but our other villagers only spoke badly of her. Their dialogue often consisted in embarrassing stories about her for some reason, and whenever they talked to her they made her sad. Less than a week later she said she had to move, as she wasn't happy. We tried to stop her- but she up an left. It was strange.
In this case, each octopus gets worse in each new game in my opinion. I love Octavian, like Marina, don?t care for Zucker, and I really dislike Splatoon so I don?t care for Inkwell either. I had Octavian in my Wild World town back when I was actively playing it, and he was a blast to have around.
I wish they didn?t keep adding new octopus villagers. They feel less unique now.
Octavian! He's been so nice with me when he moved into my town, I really liked him a lot.
And of course Marina! She was really nice with me too, and her whole pink aesthetic made me fall for her. I'm also lucky enough to have her amiibo card hehe.
I can't pick between Marina and Octavian. I never had any octopus in my town but I like Marina because she's cute (pink!!) and Octavian because he looks like how octopuses are traditionally stylized in video games so he makes me nostalgic.
