Pretty simple here, folks. Just keep the discussion civil and we will be alright. I am hoping to see where people entered the franchise on this. I myself started with SSB Melee, although I have played the original SSB before (don't remember where exactly, XD).

Only one I ever cared about were Brawl, it came out while I were in my Teens, so me and my friends would often play it together, now I'm an adult, and moved to a town where I know no one, so I rarely get visitors, so not that interesting of a series to me anymore.

Q: Favorite SSB game?

A: My favorite SSB game is definitely Super Smash Bros Melee. Favorite character to use was Roy. 'Cause he is my boy. :T When Brawl came out I found out they took him out of the game. It was really sad... Had to use Marth because Roy was gone from the list of brawlers. Though... The SSB for the 3DS/Wii U Roy is available if you bought him with money. Never played the game. The first SSB game that I start off with was the SSB game for the N64.

I've had some really fun experiences with Brawl, but Wii U has definitely been my favorite.

Super Smash Bros. Melee happens to be my favorite installment of the franchise. What makes it elevate above the rest is its much faster-paced gameplay with a lot of (sometimes unintentional) depth in terms of movement complexity, all without an overwhelmingly large character roster to keep track of.

Smash 4 has definitely been my favorite because of the sheer amount of time I've spent on it. That and the online has been the best it's ever been, and that's what I value in a game like this (even though to be fair the online has only been in Smash 4 and Brawl, unless you count emulating the games and using Netplay).

My favorite overall would probably have to be Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U. I've been playing the series since its initial release but the amount of characters (including DLC/returning characters) and the ability to play online with friends really sold it for me. The only real disappointment is the split in stages between the Wii U and 3DS versions, as I favored a lot of the 3DS stages but never could will myself to play the 3DS version and eventually sold it because I was paranoid about the reports of people breaking their circle pads from improper use and overuse. It may well have been fine since I had experience using the circle pad, but eh, I didn't want to risk it. In practical terms, my vote is more for the Wii U version since that's the one I put time into and played competitively on, but even though I never got into the 3DS version, those stages really earn it some points.

Melee has a unique feel because of the speed and I'd probably place it second. I've put as much, if not more time, into Melee than I have the Wii U installment. Brawl was fun, especially because of the Subspace Emissary, but it doesn't have the same draw as Melee. It's still a fine game though. Meanwhile, I haven't played the orginal N64 game in years at this point, so while I enjoyed it in its time, it's firmly in last place.

I picked Smash Bros. Switch because I tend to like the newest installments more with basically every franchise. Except for Bayonetta 2, god why did they ruin the glorious combat ;-;

I've always seen people favor Melee, but Brawl will always have a place in my heart because of its story mode ;v;

oh dammit, why can't I choose multiple choices LOL this is hard,
I love Super smash bros Melee for the game cube cause it was my very first game & it's how I got into smash bros.
I also like the Wii U one alot,
but guess I'll go for Melee ;;
