I think that CandyStore is US based, so the list may vary by country. Out of the list I like Smarties best. I remember that they had a sour version and that tasted really good! I don't know if it's still being distributed. While not hated as much as the list above, I also like red licorice and Double Bubble Bubble Gum.
From this list, I like smarties, tootsie rolls, and circus peanuts! I don't remember ever actually getting circus peanuts on Halloween though. Candy corn and bit-o-honey are okay as well. Licorice is awful, and the rest are meh for me
My favorite of those listed is candy corn, though rather than unpopular, it just seems very divisive, kind of like pineapple on pizza is divisive.
Tootsie Rolls are probably second as far as this list is concerned, and I actually like the circus peanuts so I'll give that number three. I haven't had either of them in like over a decade though. Smarties aren't bad, but eh, prefer the others.
To my recollection, I've never had those peanut butter kisses, though I'm kind of mildly curious to try them just once because they seem like a quintessential Halloween candy that has been around for ages. I appreciate the orange and black wrappers.
Candy corn is probably my favorite candy in general, so I've always been perplexed by the idea that it's so divisive. To the contrary, I've always been surprised at how popular Tootsie Rolls by comparison were. Those always seemed to be the things that people liked, but I've always found them to taste rubbery and artificial. Those honey things aren't bad, either, but it's a candy that feels more aimed towards the elderly than children.
I've never associated circus peanuts with Halloween, though. I've always liked them, but I think that's just because I was able to acquire the palette necessary to appreciate them. Because I can somehow understand why some people don't like them.
Out of this list I'd say candy corn. I used to eat Tootsie Rolls and Smarties but they're honestly not something I would willingly buy over other kinds of candy.
I don't think I've ever tried the rest (some I've never heard of) except for the wax bottles which I don't really care for.
Smarties are the best of this list, but I do like a few others like peanut butter kisses (though they taste different now so eh), Tootsie Rolls, and Bit O Honey.
I know a lot of people hate this candy, but I would say candycorn. I tried it and its pretty sweet to me. Of course I'm diabetic so I cannot have these so often, unless I need something to keep my blood sugar stable if it gets too low.
Ah,yes....the dreaded peanut butter kiss.I don't really see these around much nowadays but back in the 70's people used to hand these out by the bucketful. They tasted okay but the texture was similar to dried modeling clay. From the list above I like the Tootsie Roll, particularly the fruit and vanilla flavored ones.
i’m so surprised that rockets (smarties) are considered unpopular :’o they’re one of my favourite candies; the flavours are tasty, and i surprisingly like the chalkiness of them haha. i also love the rockets double lollies even though they’re hard for me to eat, but the OG rockets are definitely my favourite.
my second favourite from the list is tootsie rolls. they’re a little plasticky and not the most appealing appearance-wise, but they’re yummy. i love the fruit and vanilla flavours as well!
i think i might have had peanut butter kisses before; i don’t think i was a fan of the texture, but i remember them tasting okay. i’ve never had bit-o-honey before, but i think i would like it.
but of that list, the fake smarties are probably the ones i like most. (i think they're called something like fizzers here? we also have packs where they're all purple and called parma violets.) that said, the only other thing up there i've tried is black licorice, and it's not nice. all the others generally aren't sold here from what i've seen, not even in the american confection part of the candy aisle.
YO WHAT I love tootsie rolls. the rest of these can probably be dumped in a fire, but it's been so long since I had candy corn and the cola bottles, so I'd be willing to give them another chance before throwing them to their demise.
