What was your favorite Halloween costume?

Haven’t dressed up for years but as a kid I think that my favourite outfit would be a black cat

In the last few years I went trick-or-treating (so when I was like 12-14-ish) I had some spectacularly creepy costumes that I was really proud of—I had a couple people shudder or flinch when they opened the door for me LOL. One of them was a haunted doll outfit that I actually got an EGL dress for* and wore with a wig curled in ringlets and porcelain-doll-esque makeup, the other was a dead bride costume using a thrift store wedding dress that was super cheap but still really pretty and in great condition although in hindsight I wonder if my age was the part of that costume that freaked people out... dead child bride was not the intention but UHH
Another longstanding favorite of mine was my Grim Reaper costume... somehow no one knew what I was despite skeletal makeup/gloves, a scythe, and black hooded cloak??? but I actually still have the cloak part and I will 100% wear it whenever I have the excuse, because I love hooded cloaks and am eternally waiting for them to make a fashion comeback so I can wear it outside of Halloween and not get funny looks

*I outgrew it and no longer have it sadly ;u; the woes of buying expensive niche fashion items when you haven't finished growing

I didn't really have a favorite each year as I was never that much into it. Just whatever was quick and easy!

I don't really dress up anymore but when I was a kid I had a lot of costumes: an astronaut, a robot costume made out of cardboard boxes, the cat from strawberry shortcake, I think i was rainbow brite too. Don't remember any others but I think two years ago I dressed as a "modern witch" for a Halloween party. My favorite of my childhood costumes was probably the astronaut, it was really cute from what I remember. My least fave was the cardboard robot it was a huge box with head and arm holes and was super uncomfortable and I took it off before the night was even over. I kept the helmet for years though, it was a good storage box.

Nice!!! my grandmother was a sewing enthusiast growing up and so I had so much stuff that she made, and my greatest costume she ever made was my rainbow bright costume!!! I sure I have an old 80s photo of it somewhere but don’t think I really want to try and dig that storage tub out of the garage right now lol!!!

I dressed as Link from The Legend of Zelda for Halloween when I was 9. I was hooked on Ocarina of Time 3D and thought it would be fun to do. My parents made the tunic and I helped paint the wooden shield. I still have it somewhere. I'm really proud of how it turned out, but it was frustrating carrying a sword and shield around while also carrying a container of candy during trick or treating.
