Dorothea is way too strong to be a dancer anyway, she needs to be a Gremory. She gets Thoron, Meteor, Agnea's Arrow, and Physic, but that's all wasted if you make her a dancer.
Yeah I know I made mine a gremory and she and Hubert kicked ass.
I just thought her as a dancer would be fitting tbh

I've been absolutely addicted to this game since it released. My initial playthrough is the Black Eagles; I'd been leaning that way since before the game came out, and the characters in the Black Eagles have, by a good margin, my favorite designs and personalities from what I've been able to discern from interacting with everyone. I feel like it's going to be difficult to want to play the other routes for a while because of my fondness for the Black Eagle class, I probably should have picked one of the others first.
This game definitely feels like a return to form for the series and I'm enjoying it way more than I believed I would going in. Awakening, Fates, Warriors, and TMS #FE left me with little hope for my continued enjoyment of the series, though I did enjoy Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, which is why I gave this one a chance. Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo really knocked it out of the park, this is definitely one of the best installments in the franchise as far as I'm concerned.

I have a question: Even though the DLC maps haven't released yet, does anyone know at which point in the game that access to the "DLC portal" (Come on, that's essentially what Dragon's Gate in Fates was...a portal to the Xenologues) is granted? I definitely want to make use of whatever EXP grinding map comes out this time around.
All I know is that the first dlc comes around late October but I don't think they specified exp maps

I love how they did the battles in this game - it really feels like a big battle with people running around and everything. Pretty sure that's why they invited Koei Tecmo to help out with the game.
The previous FE didn't interest me that much

I've already managed to recruit Ingrid, Lysithea, and Shamir and I'm not even at chapter 6 yet. It really surprised me how quickly I was able to recruit Ingrid and Shamir, especially the latter. I hadn't even been trying to recruit Shamir so far, I just gave her a gift and got her support level to C, then I asked her to join my team fully expecting her to decline and she accepted. Shamir will be a nice addition to the team as I could use a Sniper since I'm turning Bernadetta into an Assassin.
Shamir is a faculty member so shes really easy to recruit like Manuela or Hannelman or whatever his name is. Alois too.

Wait I lied, I don't even have Shamir's C support either. I thought that was basically a requirement to recruit anyone but I guess not. Someone also said it's a requirement to have at least one stat over 20 but my highest is only 19.

No one knows the specifics but once you can recruit Shamir or Manuela you can recruit all of the faculty members. It just seems you need to be a high level, not a high stat.
Catherine doesn't count jsyk, I know some people confuse her for one but shes with the church.

How often do you guys try to recruit students from other houses? I haven't really even tried to, I was just playing with the original Black Eagles crew.
from my experience, having support with that unit lowers the required stat/rank you need for recruitment but it isn't 100% necessary. alternatively if you're like me and don't wanna invest time in magic/faith/reason, you can still recruit people if you reach B support with them. the downside being you have to savescum/wait for them to approach you during the week asking to join your house.
i prioritized it pretty early thinking i'd only be able to recruit like 3-4 people to my house, but in the end i wound up recruiting everyone but lorenz and ignatz.
hell i had enough AP that i basically recruited ferdinand, raphael and caspar in the last couple of months before the cutoff.unfortunately that means they were nowhere near close to reclassing into advanced classes because they all came with their top two skills at C rank
I recruited Sylvain and Ashe I think. I recruited all the faculty staff. BE is strong for me anyway.

Yeah I heard that helps and thats why NG+ is easier to recruit since you can buy supports right away. I'm surprised you got all those people your first run though. I was too lazy to go for units I didn't want and some units will never join you..

I've played for over 50 hours already and I've only just beaten chapter 8 lol. I've spent a lot of time figuring out the best methods to recruit as many students as possible and I think I could get them all if I tried. But I'm not really sure if I want to put in that extra effort recruiting the last few people that I won't ever use. I've heard if you do the paralogue for Lorenz you get an OP staff so I'll probably snag him just for that.
