I don’t know why I’m posting this but I was just feeling kinda sad and wanted to talk to someone who maybe had felt the same way.

About a year ago I thought my second car, a 2004 black KA. I really liked that car. But after a few months of having it I noticed it had a drain on the battery. We tried everything to get it fixed but nothing worked. In the end I was having to jump start it most mornings. So I decided to look for a new car.

My step dad found a 2005 Vauxhall tigra. It’s very nice - lovely blue colour and a convertible and I’ve fancied a convertible for a while. But I just can’t seem to gel with it. I struggle to drive it. Its got small things wrong with it that I should be able to over look but all I can think is that I preferred my little KA.

So now I’m sat here just feeling very sad, wishing I could just go back to the garage and pick up my KA again. :( I know it was a pain with the battery but it was a good car. If it hadn’t been for the battery I wouldn’t have even sold it.

I had my Ford Escort ZX2 for 18 years and it was a great car up until the last couple of years when it became too expensive to repair and my local Ford dealer had a hard time finding parts for it because of its age.I replaced it with a car that's better in every way(a 2016 Ford Fiesta)but I still miss my ZX2 quite a bit.

Goodbyes, even to something material, can be very hard. I'm really sorry, and I hope you're able to find redeemable values in your new car.

Honestly, I drove a Ford Ranger for a year and I kinda missed it after I began driving my Hyundai Sonata (my dad and I did a vehicle swap, so he drives the Ranger now). However, I must say, I've grown to really like the Sonata (and truthfully I had already liked it growing up when he still drove it), so now I don't know what I'll do when it's gone...

The car I really want to own in the future would be an Audi A4, though.

Maybe you should've looked into what was causing the battery drain. Could've been way cheaper than buying another car.

I've had the "battery drain" thing you've described happen on two different cars. You know what fixed it? Buying a new car battery. Car batteries are fairly cheap, only like $100 or less typically (depends on your particular car of course). You can get the employees at the auto part store you buy it from to help you put it in for free, or you can even do it yourself. It's pretty easy.

When my Dad sold the his Audi 80 it was very sad for me as well,
I even tried to stop him, but the car was already over 20 years old
and he really needed a new car. He took such good care of it over
the years and it was the first car I was allowed to "drive".. well,
I was allowed to drive it into the garage when I was like 10yo. :')

But I never knew a different car, I think he got it when I was like
2 years old and he kept it until I was 16. It was heartbreaking for
me to see it being gone and I couldn't stand the new car, but eventually
it was getting better, kinda like every goodbyes. They are the hardest
at the beginning, but eventually it will get better.

At least my brother recently spotted our old car again, must be around
25 or 26 years old now!! It was easy to spot, as I made a drawing of a
boo hoo on my window side and the new owner decided to keep it. :)
