I prefer window seat on everything but 15 hour long flights.. in that case i want aisle seat so that I can get up as much as I want without having to make other people get up
I usually don't get on buses or trains or whatever, but I do prefer aisle seats. That way I can just get up and stand in the aisle to let someone sit or get out, and they not have to figure out how to crawl over me if I can't move because someone else won't move. Or in the case of the theater, it isn't really doable when you are in the middle of the row of seats.
And I don't mind having to get up multiple times.
I usually don't have the option since there's very few times I'm on a plane, train, or whatever. Most times I'm driving my own car so technically I guess I have the window and aisle seat? I can get out whenever I want to stretch, but I don't think that would make the people behind me too happy.
So when it comes to plane seating I prefer to sit by the window if I am flying with someone like my mom she always sits in the middle because I don't really like to sit next to strangers. I'd probably sit in the aisle seat if I couldn't get a window seat but I would never want to sit in the middle because I'd feel pretty claustrophobic.
When I used to take the bus I would either sit in a seat that was facing away from the window or I'd be sitting by the window if I was forward facing.
I tend to prefer the window seat for the nice scenery. Esspecially on busses or trains.
Now for planes it depends. I haven't been on one is a long time. I do like the window seat, it's also somewhat relaxing to look out of. But it can make me anxious to look out and see how high up we are. I'm not afraid of heights, but its a bit complicated to say what goes through my head when we're up high.
