I'm doing the event and I got all the festivale items and then he made me give him 3 rainbow feathers for the float. Now I'm trying to get all the color variants of the items but pave is making me give him 3 more rainbow feathers for another float. i thought once i did that the first time i'd be free to get the other items unhindered. I dont understand why the game is making me do this again this is dumb. do i need to keep the float in my inventory or is gonna keep happening no matter what? I should add that I can't find rainbow feathers so i have to waste other feathers to make them.

You get a float after every 9 furniture pieces. I only needed two color variations of all the items and wound up with two floats today.

He did the same with me and it made me dislike the event a little more lol, it was annoying because I wanted to keep trying for the lamps but he won't stop asking me to give him 3 rainbow feathers when I already have the float. There's no prompt for me to say no to him to continue getting other furniture variants either so I just stopped.
This was my biggest problem with the event, I wanted to exchange stacks of certain coloured feathers to get a few more items or some rainbow feathers for a few rainbow items but Pave wanted 3 more rainbow feathers for an extra float, I've got no use really for the first float I received (it's just going to live in storage) so I didn't want to waste feathers on another one. I actually ended up TT'ing off the day and then back to it (obviously a long way round the problem and it shouldn't really need to be done to avoid part of an event) and collected some more items and then ignored Pave and just customised all the items myself using the rainbow feathers.

That was the one thing I didn't like about the event. I had collected a full set of green from my shop, but I wanted a few duplicates in certain items, so I did trade green feathers. It took a while to collect all the complete sets, with duplicates, in all colors, and I ended up with 4 or 5 floats (I sold a couple off, so I lost count). It would have been nice if you could opt out on that, once you'd received the first one.
I spoke to him on numerous occasions; with stacks of coloured feathers and one rainbow feather in my pockets, another time with just one rainbow feather, another time with just one stack of green feathers and one last time with no feathers at all - every time he'd have the dialogue about bringing him 3 rainbow feathers so it seemed there was no escape from his desire to provide me with another float but maybe other people managed to avoid this

If you had additional players you can do the event over with them so you can get the same items in different colors you want. Otherwise you might have to time travel the next day and go back to the event and start over again.
Sounds potentially like a bug. Somehow the game isn't registering that you already just received the float. The first time I did the event, I stupidly made a bunch of rainbow feathers and got the full rainbow set and then the float. After which, I was able to give him 27 feathers of another color and get 9 more items until I got back to the float quest.
Yeah it seems like it probably was a bug as it seemed odd for the game to try and give out multiple floats, I TT'd in the end and that solved it for me as I could then go back and collect more furniture without getting a second float.
It was annoying that she kept stopping you to collect 3 rainbow feathers for floats, I got 5 or 6.. I sold most of them.
Otherwise I actually enjoyed Festivale mostly. I collected all the different colored sets, and am using some of it already.
