Filling Houses Quickly?

Hi.

I've just had a visitor from my campsite move into a new home.
Tom Nook has asked me to build more houses for 10k each, which I have also done.

I want to fill those houses up quickly. Do I need to wait until people visit my campsite and invite them one day at a time, or is there a faster way? If I use nook mile tickets to visit islands for example, can I find more villagers?
