Last night, I went on a mystery tour to create another DIY tarantula island. I packed a net, a spare vaulting pole and ladder, and a flimsy shovel.

What happened next COMPLETELY made up for what happened when I failed to catch two tarantulas at the same time.

I wasn’t even thinking about it.

How did this happen, when I spent over 50 nook miles tickets looking for scorpion island and not getting it?

I wasn’t even thinking about it, because I knew it was extremely unlikely I’d land on the actual thing.

I took a single nook miles ticket with me to the airport.

On the first try, I got THE ACTUAL TARANTULA ISLAND.

OMG. It was a 1% chance. How?

Even though I know how to catch these creeps, I still got bit over 25 times because they kept coming up to attack me whenever I caught one. My highest streak of getting them without getting attacked by another one was 3.

I got these photos with my camera. BTW, tarantulas and scorpions can’t make you faint while the camera app is open. So I was able to take these next few photos below.

Imagine if someone sent you this as a postcard.

Just chilling with my tarantula friend. Look, it wants to hug me! (JK. It wants to bite me and inject its venom into my bloodstream.)

IMG_1967.jpeg

JK. They hate my guts.

Hey tarantula! Say cheese!

IMG_1969.jpeg

I’m having such a great time! Yay…

Here’s a regular photo of me catching two tarantulas. This TOTALLY makes up for what happened in that boat tour.

Once my pockets were full and I dropped my extra tools on the beach, I left. I was sad to go, but I had nothing else to do on the island. I hope I encounter it again someday.

I was really proud of myself. I’m saving these tarantulas so I can sell them to Flick.

I also took a few videos. One of them was me playing chase with my tarantula ‘friend’. It accidentally fell into the water. Oops. The next one was of me catching a tarantula when it ran at me. That never happened before, so it felt good. I actually managed to grab a few more tarantulas this way. The last video was of me luring one to a trap I made and catching it. I caught about 3 tarantulas this way.

If you asked me back in February if I could handle going to tarantula island, I would’ve said no. I used to be absolutely terrified of tarantulas, as I’d freeze up and my heart would start beating really fast whenever I saw one. But now, because the scorpions trained me, I’m not scared of tarantulas anymore. Both of them still spook me if they happen to catch me off guard. I feel like I’ve grown in these past couple of months. Thank you, scorpions. (I really miss you BTW. I can’t wait until May when you return and people in the southern hemisphere have to deal with the tarantulas.)

Awesome! I remember one time I found it and I was so shocked. It also was kinda scary. I was kinda glad to finally get off the island after catching a bunch of them

For some reason, the image I attached at the bottom of my original post didn’t fully show up. So here it is in full view for your viewing pleasure. You’re welcome.

Also, the next night at 11:57 PM I saw another tarantula. I caught it, and I consider it a bonus. Since I could only get 39 tarantulas on the actual island, I felt like this tarantula made up for the pocket space I had to leave for my net. Raymond was also staring at it and said: “What a weird looking rock. No, is it… a tarantula?”

Here’s the bonus photos.

Flick came to visit today. In total, the amount of money I made selling 40 tarantulas was 480,000 bells.

That's really great! I...I have a fear of tarantulas, really any type of bug *yes even butterflies sue me XD*, I always run from them even in the game.

Wow…you are so lucky! In all my four years of playing this game, I’ve not ONCE encountered the tarantula island! Looks like fun!

Congrats. It looks like you had a blast and made some interesting friends. I never get that island but I do get the little guys occasionally on the regular ones at night which is fine I guess.

I only found tarantula island once, but it was so much fun! I also got "scared" by them, but it's so fun to run right back in and catch more! I am glad you had so much fun!

By the way, Flick is apparently super rich! Where does his money cone from?

He probably gets it from Redd or his dad Nat made lots of money with those Bug Offs.

Can you still force tarantulas to spawn or do you have to be on tarantula island
