Finally being content with an Island name... 🏝

I just may stick with Charmelo. It’s original and has a nice flow to it.

Been contemplating naming my town Wit’s End since NL was announced, but had to sacrifice either the space or apostrophe, decided not to sacrifice either. I may name my NH town Wit’s End if the character limit permits, buuut the name Wit’s END doesn’t quite suit the island setting.

I wish i could come up with names easily,, i usually end up being unoriginal and choosing a name from a game or something(which most people do)
this time imma try and be original,,i have alot of time to contemplate about it ig

I understand the struggle! After many, many resets and a long period of no gaming (I go through gaming phases lol) I decided on the name Velaris. It sounds romantic and comes from one of my favourite book series, it was a city that was the only refuge in a brutal war and it's description (people and places) blew me away so it's always been Velaris ever since. So yeah, that is the story behind my town name :) My other town is called Ville because that is french and I learn french and I am about as close to fluent as I could ever get (know my conjugation but not all tenses)

My newest NL town is Lilycove and I'm thinking I'll use it again for New Horizons. Unless they increase the character limit, in which case I might play around with longer names.

I decided what my town name in the next Animal Crossing game would be before the Switch ever launched, and name is 'Seasons'.

And now having seen the greater emphasis on seasonal atmosphere in New Horizons, I am VERY happy with the decision.

Soledad is the name of my town in new leaf, I really like the name but I am curious to see if we can use longer name in new horizon and if it's possible, I will improve the name :)

I'm not very creative. I'm thinking about Haven, or maybe Eden.
If I go with the horror theme, it will probably be Neblinas (portuguese for mists), based on a brazilian legend of a really beautiful island that suddenly appear after a foggy day, and then dissapears like an illusion to be never seen again.

Do we know the character limit yet? I would love to name mine Elsewhere. For NL I had to take out a letter due to the limit. Elswhere is fine too tho.

But I'm sure after a few months I will have wished I named it something else. XD

This has been thought about so in depth it's scary.. and is also the most British thing I've heard! You're truly one of us

Heya sorry for no reply, my assignments got in the way. Aww thanks! I'm glad I'm one of yous!

I actually haven't thought of an island name for this game yet, as I am not certain if we are allowed more letters than eight like New Leaf.

Basically me. I'll wait until I actually play the game to figure out a name. I've never really been content with any of the names I picked for any of my towns and I wish you could edit names somehow like in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon.

Most times feel great about the names I came up and create my town thinking it's a the greatest name ever, only to later cringe at my selection and regret it, but I bear with it because I'd hate to restart my game and unlock everything again.

I'd like if they gave you more letters to work with in Horizon. I want my town to have "Valley" at the end of the name I go with like "Stardew Valley" or "Windmill Valley".

I wanted to name my town Sheffield because I was born in South Yorkshire, England.

Sheffield(!!!) <3

(You should deffo call it that)

As for me I haven't decided the name of my island lolol, I studied abroad in Japan recently so maybe I'll be basic and just call it Kyoto cos I lived there for the year and it's my favourite place on earth so it feels sentimental to me... But it sounds so weeb pff

I named my last town Celestic, it's basic af (after Celestic Town from Pokemon), but it sounds cool! Celestic Island!

Sheffield(!!!) <3

(You should deffo call it that)

I'd love to call it that, believe me, but it is ten letters, and we can only do eight! And if it's allowed ten letters in New Horizons, I don't think Sheffield or yorkshire or england should be on there. All you get is either:

Smog
Sleet
Snow
Rain
Storm
Cold
Freezing af

Only two weeks of sunshine

And compared to Australia, beaches in the UK are crap.

I'm going to call my island Slippery Rock. Cause when I was a small child, there was this place we used to go camping where in the middle of the small lake, you could swim to this small island sized rock that was covered in a thin film of algae that made it super slippery and all the campers would swim there to slide down the rock into the water. The place was called Slippery Rock.

I haven't decided on an island name. My ACNL towns have been named Mew, Pokey, Eureka and TickTock. This time I'm feeling any of these names:

1) Delta (I saw this mentioned on another thread)
2) Abbey
3) Chambray
4) Almond
5) Okalani (or another Hawaii or island inspired name, i.e. Hokulani)

This list may grow. It takes me FOREVER to name a town or island, so it's good I'm starting now!
