Flea tips?

I'm losing my marbles ;-;

I've had this game since launch and have had the same island the whole time, I've got like three more bugs to catch and one of them is this DANG FLEA.

I must be doing something wrong, I have never seen one the entire time I have played. I'm constantly following people around looking for fleas and talking to them to see if they're 'itchy'. There's gotta be some trick to this. I've seen people waiting until it's raining at night, but I misplaced my weather seed so I have no idea when that will be, and I really don't wanna have to rip up my island to trap the villagers in a flea catching cage/fence like I've seen some people do. Is it a luck thing? Is there a specific month there's more? I'm losing it here.

You sound like me, it took me forever to find a flea in this game, I played for over 1500 before finally finding one. I've seen a few since then but they're definitely still quite rare.

The main advice I can give you is just walk around your town when there's the most villagers out so you have the most chances to spot one. And make sure you're looking during a time of the year when fleas are available in your hemisphere.

Northern hemisphere: Apr – Nov
Southern hemisphere: Oct – May
