You are the lucky recipient of an all-access VIP pass to tour the gorgeous tropical paradise that is Avalar!

Please hold all questions until the end of the tour. No flash photography, and please refrain from feeding the local Fauna, as she's on a diet. Oh, and don't mind Judy, she's a little shy around new people.

Overview of Avalar ​

A1 Tom Nook's satellite dish aimed out towards the ocean in hopes of catching Redd at his game.
A2 Unbeknownst to Nook, Redd keeps his home port right under Tom's nose, this is Pirate's Bay.
A3-6 Alpine Ridge. Go hiking or rock climbing on Avalar's cliffs and experience jaw dropping views.
B1+C1 Sunny Beach. Have a close encounter with incredible Avalar sea life. (Please do not sit on sea turtles!)
B2+B3 Midday Gardens. These pastures contain at least 9 of each flower, painstakingly sorted into an expansive rainbow as far as the eye can see. Flowers from this field can be purchased at Avalar Farmer's Market.
B3+4 North of the river is Summer Forest. These mystical woods contain crumbling ruins surrounded by giant mushrooms and enchanting glowing moss.
South of the river is the Midday Gardens Florist shop and and Avalar Apiary, buy delicious local honey direct from the source!
B6 Idol Springs, a natural hot spring located at summit of the island. Surrounded by an arrangement of purple and blue wildflowers, enjoy views of the entire island while soothing your muscles in the springs. The spring flows into two waterfalls which corner a square pond next to Representative Roxie's home.
A7+B7+C7 Cape Crustacean. The creatures that inhabit this beach have a voracious appetite for flesh and treasure, do you dare brave its shores in search of lost booty?
C2+D2 Avalar Cemetery and the suspected vampire Laszlo's home. The Southern most portion of D2 is the Avalar Orchard.
C3+D3 (and a bit of C2+D2) Avalar Farms. This is where the mysterious old man Floyd lives above his (Christmas themed) toy store.
C4+C5+D4 Bamboo Terrace. Tie your tanzaku to the bamboo here and your wish just might come true! There are many snapping turtles in this area, watch your fingers! This area features two waterfalls and a distinctive pattern of stones in a pond. Legend says there's a trick to stepping on these stones to reveal a secret passage.
D5+ the Western part of D6 features Sanrio Pierroland! Enjoy a bubble tea and be immersed in a pastel carnival fantasy land! (No affiliation with "Sanrio Puroland")
East D6 Fritz's FunZone Diner's outdoor dining area.
D7 Avalar Lighthouse and Ocean-view lookout area
E1+E2 Pear Park, a reserve for our island's native fruit and flora. Have a picnic on Pear Pond surrounded by the gorgeous native pear trees and green chrysanthemums. The area features the finest snacks Avalar has to offer, including doughnuts, shaved ice, pineapple whip, and fresh fruit smoothies from the orchard nearby.
E3 Avalar Camp Site where tourists can stay during their visit. Conveniently located next to the museum and shopping!
The Southern portion of E3-7 is the residential district, Shady Oasis. Here on Avalar, villagers live the boardwalk life, beachfront property and easy access to the Avalar Airport.
The Northern portion of E4 contains Avalar Museum and its gift shop. Come see local artist Flick's models of every bug/fish native to Avalar and purchase some Nook Inc., DAL, and Avalar Museum souvenirs!
E5 Resident Services building and our bustling Town Square, the cultural center of our downtown area
E6 Shopping District and Fritz's FunZone, which contains a sports diner, movie theater, arcade, and tiki bar. There's a lot here, it's like a mini mall, locals say the food handling is iffy though, so eat here at your own risk!
F1 Twilight Harbor and Kappn's Dock. Take tours to various islands in the Avalar Archipelago.
F2 Avalar Tiki Bar, grab a drink while your kids are having fun at the park. If you're thirsty for competition, try entering the sandcastle contest.
F3 More crabs have been spotted in this area, approach with extreme caution.
F4 Avalar Surf Shack, get your surfing/snorkeling equipment here and catch some waves at Dragon Shores!
F5+F6 Various vendor stalls line the boardwalk to grab drinks and souvenirs on your way back to Avalar Airport.
F7 Volleyball court and beach lounge chairs free for anyone to use (first come first served).

History of Avalar

​

In the not so distant year of 2020, our founder Roxie arrived on Avalar with nothing but the striped shirt on her back, and a vision for the future of our island.

She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but something told her she was going to fit right in here.

It wasn't long before Avalar underwent major development. Although a majority of the island's natural features remain intact to this day, parts of the cliff-side and rivers have been developed to allow for additional agricultural and residential zoning. It was decided early on that Avalar would be built around functionality, as such a road encompasses the entire island allowing easy access to every corner.

In order to give the island's economy a much needed boost, Roxie's goal was to plant every fruit and flower possible, thus the flower breeding project began.

Once the majority of the ever popular hybrid flowers were acquired, she started on breeding the elusive gold and blue roses.

Town Square Garden is complete, paying homage to the Avalar flag.


Shortly thereafter construction began on the boardwalk and residential district, Shady Oasis.


Then the founding of Pear Park.

The Avalar Honey Stand sets up shop, with the Midday Garden Flower shop soon to be under development as well.

Bamboo Terrace gets its start, located at the heart of the island.

Awaiting Kappn's Arrival, and the founding of Twilight Harbor.

The first major produce to crop up on Avalar was pumpkins, at the time the agricultural zone was dedicated to them.

Before the Surf Shack was established, Zucker ran his Japanese snack shop here. I remember overhearing some lazy villagers talking about how he released a giant takoyaki, but he mysteriously disappeared right after that, I wonder what ever happened to him...

Due to Avalar's culture of cleanliness and upkeep of personal care, fleas are a rarity on the island. It wasn't until Dom, Avalar's first jock moved in that a flea was spotted. After over 1540 hours of searching, Roxie captured a flea and Avalar museum was finally complete.

In order to fund numerous island projects, Roxie played the turnip stalk market. It was a long road, but in the end it really paid off.

Residents of Avalar

Avalar has a diverse community of creatives. Strongly held opinions throughout the town spark heated discussions on the regular. Although they don't always see eye to eye, our community is as tight knit as they come.

Diana

Fashion and glam is her game. Diana cares deeply about her personal appearance, perhaps to a fault. She's quick to judge others by appearance, but is open to having her mind changed. Diana enjoys keeping tabs on all the goings on in Avalar, and is guilty of spreading some gossip herself. She can come off as arrogant and judgemental to those who don't know her well, but get on her good side and you will have earned a friend for life.


Rod

Rod washed up on the shores of Avalar one day after being forced to walk the plank by his former crew. He loves all things shiny and has been known to steal from unsuspecting residents when they aren't looking. Despite this, Rod is kindhearted and fiercely defends his friends. When you've earned his respect, Rod makes for a top rate first mate.


Muffy

Muffy is a crafty sheep, she spins her own wool into yarn which she then crochets into gifts for her friends on the island. With an interest in gothic lolita fashion, Muffy makes a living selling the dresses she sews herself. She can come across as intimidating when you first meet her, but under the bold make-up and layers of lacy black ruffles resides a heart of absolute gold.


Judy

​

Avalar's own starry eyed bear cub. Judy is reserved around new people and can be quick to judge others. She has an interest in make-up and loves giving makeovers to anyone who will let her. Judy 's house is filled to the brim with her collection of stuffed toys, though it may not match her usual style, her all-time favorite plush is a purple bunny gifted to her by her neighbor Muffy.

Lily

Unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. In her Lane. Focused. Flourishing.
Lily is an introvert who stays out of any drama that stirs up on the island. She keeps to her self most of the time, reading fantasy novels in her cozy cave. She's a happy frog who just wants everyone to get along and have a good time.


Julian

Julian on the other hoof is a stallion with a thirst for attention. A horse who's hip on the trends, he likes to keep caught up with the day to day happenings around Avalar. Julian has an interest in astrology and will jump at the opportunity to tell you your horoscope. Julian loves himself and isn't afraid to show it. Some people can be put off by his ego stroking, but we stan a confident king.


Ione

Ione is a squirrel with her head in the stars. Obsessed with anything space, she spends much of her time live streaming sci-fi games. When she isn't doing that, she's reading about space, or gazing though her telescope. Due to her analytical nature, she and Julian have gotten into many a scuffle over the validity of astrology.

Tangy

Tangy's Treats is the most popular ice cream shop on Avalar. Tangy serves up a variety of zesty frozen drinks and treats to cool you down while enjoying the warm beaches of Avalar. Tangy can be very sweet, but also bitter. She dreams of one day having her sweet treats enjoyed the world around.

Étoile​

A Sweetheart through and through. Étoile spends her days indulging her in her hyper-fixations. She doesn't have any one particular hobby, she has all of them! Her art supplies pile up from countless half finished projects. Jewelry making, doll houses, flower pressing, candle making, hoof polish, sweet lolita dresses and accessories. She doesn't care if others find it childish, if it's cute, or fluffy, or sparkly she has to have it!

Bianca

Bianca is all about rainbow everything. She loves to paint and Lisa Frank is a huge inspiration for her art. Bianca has a hard time making friends, so her plushies keep her company, as well as serving as models for her paintings. She is new in town and hoping that a change in environments will bring her out of her shell, and she can finally meet some new friends.

Resident Representative Roxie

Representative Roxie is the generous benefactor of Avalar and the proprietor of Roxie's Odds n' Ends, which she founded in May of 2020. She is an active philanthropist, environmentalist, owner of Midday Gardens and Avalar Apiary, and co-founder of Avalar HHP. From initial capital of only 5000 Nook Miles, Representative Roxie built Avalar into the world’s top travel destination.

The most magnificent property in Avalar, Roxie lives in a stunning estate home with spectacular views. Her home is positioned on the North end of the island, and sits on five beautifully manicured acres. Every element of her home was built to the highest of standards, and the finish work and detail are unrivaled.

Roxie graciously invites us for a tour of her luxurious island mansion!

When entering Roxie's home you are greeted with her office and trophy room. From here, Roxie manages her multiple businesses across the archipelago.

With a thirst for competition, Roxie has proven herself to be a jack of all trades. Her office displays prizes from various events across the island. From Bug Offs and Fishing Tourneys, to Stamp Rallies and HHA inspections, if there is a prize to be won, Roxie aims for the gold.

Upon completing any particularly vexing business dealings, Roxie need only step into her personal spa room to experience world class rest and relaxation.

With her villa's stunning view of Alpine Ridge, Roxie is able to gaze upon the beauty of Avalar, and everything else just melts away.

Roxie's bathroom is fully upgraded with all the luxury amenities you could want. It features a spacious shower, heated marble floors, and solid onyx Jacuzzi tub.

Business that can't be managed in the office is conducted here.

Roxie's kitchen is another cozy space where she likes to unwind. Its rustic styling reminds her of where she came from. She decorates her kitchen with the handcrafted art her loving, if overbearing, mother sends her monthly.

When Roxie needs to refuel on caffeine, she knows she can rely on her trusty espresso maker.

In her attic Roxie keeps her space memorabilia. This room is where she dreams up her plans for the future of Avalar. The brilliant lightshow fills her with determination, and reminds her to never stop aiming for the stars.

Roxie's master suite resides in the base of the house in a spacious underwater viewing room.

The room sports a mermaid theme with a panorama view of Avalar's gorgeous coral reefs, and features a heated pool and furnishings crafted from Avalar's finest pearlescent shells.

This concludes our tour of Representative Roxie's home. Roxie is the single most important figure in the development of Avalar, her penchant for design is unmatched, and our island is honored to have her represent us.

Avalar Cemetery
​

Today our tour brings us to Avalar Cemetery and the mysterious grave-keeper who resides there, Laszlo.

Laszlo is a peculiar fellow, not particularly photogenic. Not much is known about this mysterious character. Outside of maintaining the cemetery grounds, he works night shifts at Avalar Tiki Bar.

He's spotted us! Is he inviting us in? Well it would be downright rude to turn down so gracious an offer, perhaps we could take a quick look around inside...

Oh good, Representative Roxie! How pleasant to see a familiar face. What brings you here this time of night, enjoying some blood red... tea with Laszlo?

Laszlo is a collector of curiosities from across the world. His living room, for lack of a better term, is adorned with antiquities he claims to have procured himself on his many alleged "conquests".

In this room there must be some intricate wiring system, as when Laszlo started to play on the piano, the unmanned instruments around the room began to float into the air, seemingly playing themselves. An amusing display, but nothing unexplainable.

Laszlo refers to this room as "the kitchen". It is a dingy room with an oddly metallic smell. A creepy little doll is sat at a table with a glass sphere upon it, the doll seems to observe your every movement. He sat at the table across from the doll, and spoke in some unintelligible language and the floor burst into an explosion of light.

Laszlo suddenly arose and turned to the pot of unidentifiable ick in the corner. "Soup's ON!" he declared, but we politely declined to try any.

This cemetery is a lot bigger than it looks from the entrance. Where did all of these bodies come from when there's only like 15 residents on this island? Truly one of Avalar's greatest mysteries.

The grave-keeper spends his days in his windowless basement suite. There's a garishly gold sarcophagus positioned in front of a black and white TV in the middle of this room.

When time seems to drag on, Laszlo distracts himself by building card towers, playing his violin, and reading books from his expansive home library.

Upstairs glows with an eerie purple hue, the smell emanating from the room is sickeningly sweet, like candy corn cupcakes.
As you ascend the stairs, you're greeted with the view of a massive shrine dedicated to Jack, Czar of Halloween. Candy is strewn about the floor in hopes of manifesting the ghostly gourd himself.

With that, we conclude our tour of the grave-keeper's home, thank you for showing us around Laszlo!

He's certainly a unique individual, maybe he's just really into Halloween, and perhaps he's not as creepy as people say.

Avalar Farm
​

Avalar Farm is a rustic country homestead and farmland owned and operated by a kind old man named Floyd.

Floyd is a sweet old man who loves to make others smile. He doesn't seem to have any real family of his own, as such he's considered everyone's grandpa. He has a close relationship with many, if not all residents of Avalar. He's always there to listen, and asking what you want for Christmas.

Since Floyd took over the pasture, the island's crops have been diversified to include a variety of colorful produce. Avalar Farm now provides a impressive array of the world's highest quality fruits and veggies.

Floyd's highly trained assistant pigs (Waddles, left and P-Chan, right) get the first taste of any produce to make its way to Avalar. These pigs are extremely selective, this insures Avalar Farmer's Market distributes only the finest crops available.

Floyd goes all out for the holidays, and transforms his home into a Christmas wonderland! The dazzling display is renowned across the archipelago.

Inside his home is a magnificent toy store, Floyd's Toy Box. This store magically always seems to have just the thing your heart most desires. Lost toys, forgotten dreams, and precious memories all turn up on the shelves here, you need only to wish for them.

Packed to the brim with anything tiny minds could dream of, this shop is known to gift free toys to those who don't have the means to pay for them. Needy children have all but disappeared from Avalar since Floyd's arrival, he's been so good for our community!

An astounding Godzilla display which features toys from the store is exhibited in a side room, even this massive Godzilla is available for purchase, this place really has everything!

Right off the shop is a nook to have a meet and greet with the jolly man himself! Have your photo taken with Santa in Floyd's professional photography studio.

Single portraits and a variety of backdrops are also available. Candy is provided as incentive to sit still for little wiggly ones, and not so little wiggly ones alike.

The back room features a comfy festive fall theme. Enjoy a holiday meal with your family in this spacious dining room celebrating the reapings of the harvest.

On the menu, meunière sea bass, crab and mushroom gratin, and scallop chowder. For dessert, have a slice of carrot cake, and pumpkin pie, eat until you're absolutely stuffed, and then have seconds!

Upstairs is Floyd's living space. Nutcrackers stand proudly atop a crackling fireplace, scattered empty shells rest upon the mantle. His home is adorned from top to bottom with streamers, garlands, and twinkling lights.

There is a small tent set up in the room, in front of it books are open on the floor. Clearly old, but well taken care toys rest neatly along the wall, coated in a layer of fine dust.

Above the door stockings are hung, looks like Jingle's left something inside! You might need to grab a ladder there, Mr. Floyd.

Downstairs is where the real magic happens, it's Floyd's workshop! Lots of tiny hands work tirelessly to make those toys that show up under your tree on Christmas, let's all thank them by buying lots and lots of toys this season!

Jingle's posters hang on the wall reminding the workers that he knows when they're sleeping, and he knows when they're awake, so they'd better be good, for goodness' sake. Thank you for a look at the inner workings of your magical toy store Mr. Floyd!
What a lovely institution Floyd has built here, creating jobs in the community and spreading holiday joy!

Museum of Avalar

The region’s premier resource for hands-on experiences and conservation education. Avalar Museum offers fun, exciting ways to discover more about our world’s ocean, the insects that inhabit Avalar Archipelago, the creatures that once ruled this planet, and the ones who do now.

Avalar Museum regularly acquires new works of art for our collections through donation. The growth of the museum's permanent collections through acquisitions is an essential part of the museum’s mission. Blathers, the museum's Director, insists all acquisitions are rigorously reviewed by him upon collection.

Story is a curator for Avalar Museum and is responsible for managing the insect collections, developing and planning their exhibitions, and overseeing educational programs within the museum, she also runs the Avalar Museum Gift Shop!

The Avalar Museum collects and exhibits objects from across cultures, exploring the connections between past and present. The Ancient Art exhibit serves the island by welcoming all peoples to explore and experience art, creativity, and our shared humanity.

The Avalar Arthropod exhibit offers visitors the opportunity discover the world of arthropods; from their biological relationships to their ecological roles and importance. The gallery features more than 80 living specimens, housing a large collection of living arthropods; arachnids, crustaceans, millipedes, centipedes, and insects too!

"Arthropods" include insects as well as non-insects such as spiders, millipedes, centipedes, and crayfish.

“Insects” are a subdivision of arthropods, and includes only creatures with three main body parts: head, thorax and abdomen with antennae on the head.

Observe stag beetles acting as they would in the wild, using their mandibles as weapons to lift, and toss other males off the tree in a struggle for dominance.

Take a stroll in a beautiful garden while butterflies fly around you! Avalar Museum's Butterfly Garden is home to hundreds of free-flying butterflies representing species native to Avalar Archipelago. You may even be lucky enough to have a butterfly come and land on you!

Before you leave, take a peek into the museum's Butterfly Lab, where zookeepers hatch and raise endangered butterflies for release into the wild. You'll learn about the butterfly's life cycle while watching new butterflies emerge from their chrysalises, and take their first flight!

With rapid climate change, the health of the ocean is at stake, and the mission of the Avalar Aquarium has never been more imperative. We have a responsibility to protect and restore our marine environment, and it all starts with understanding.

Avalar Museum's aquarium is dedicated to providing marine conservation education to the public. Their mission, To Study and Conserve Our Marine Environment, is reflected in everything they do, from their beautiful exhibits and exciting events, to their conservation and education programs.

Currently, the collection consists of over 80 unique Fish and 40 Deep Sea Creatures. Avalar Aquarium meets the highest standards in animal care and welfare while providing a fun, safe, and educational family experience.

Board the N-00K submarine, the actual craft that explored the waters of the archipelago before it was blown to the surface and captured by notorious pirate captain Redd. From the cramped quarters to the smell of fox musk, it's an interactive piece of Avalar history your family will never forget!

Aspiring paleontologists, animal enthusiasts, and history buffs alike will all fall in love with Avalar Museum's fossil exhibit. This world-class research facility is famous for its extensive fossil collection.

Behold the beauty of ancient bones. The museum features authentic fossils of a giant T-Rex, Wooly Mammoth, Megaloceros, and many more life-size fossil displays.

Learn about the evolution of dinosaurs, they dominated the planet until a meteor wiped out most of them about 66 million years ago.

We now know that the Age of Dinosaurs never really ended. A group of dinosaurs walk still among us today, you may even have one as a neighbor (or museum director)!

Local artist and insect enthusiast Flick lends his incredible talents, creating models of nearly all living exhibits featured in Avalar Museum.

These larger than life models are individually handcrafted, excellent quality creations, each with its own unique characteristics.

Tide pools are cavities along the shoreline of Avalar's rocky coasts with sea-life trapped within them. This room is a representation of that.

Nature inspired realism, every fish is crafted by Flick using 100% vegan materials.

Welcome to Fritz's FunZone! Featuring exciting indoor activities for all ages, with a Movie Theater, Arcade FunZone, Tiki Bar, and Restaurant! It’s a great spot for drop-in play, birthday parties, corporate events, group outings and more!
At Fritz's, family fun is guaranteed!

Fritz is a carefree guy who seems to just want to be a kid forever. Founder and owner of Fritz's FunZone. He has a passion for sports, video games, and movies and took the opportunity to start a business specializing in not just one, but all of his hobbies. Due to his childish nature, he has a tendency to not take safety seriously, and has been threatened with shut down in the past due to numerous complaints.

The leader in high definition satellite sports, Fritz’s Sports Bar is chocked-full with enough 4K HD screens to make anyone's head spin. Sunny Beach ​

Have a close encounter with incredible Avalar sea life! These beaches are visited by green turtles during nesting season from March to November. Witnessing wild sea turtles is an incredible and life changing experience the whole family can enjoy.

It is against the law to touch the nests, hatchlings, or to bother the turtles while they are nesting. We can't believe we have to say this, but please DO NOT sit on sea turtles!

Tom Nook built this satellite dish in hopes of tracking pirate captain Redd. Former business partners, Redd's unsavory actions drove a rift between the two of them, leading to a bitter rivalry that lasts to this day. Tom Nook offers 100,000 NMT for information leading to Redd's arrest.

Unbeknownst to Nook, Redd keeps his home port right under Tom's nose, this is Pirate's Bay. It would be impossible to peddle his wares to any legitimate art gallery or museum, so Redd set up shop here. With countless priceless treasures to be discovered, those with a keen eye for detail should have no issues making a killing at this hidden market.

Seashell Shore ​

Complementary beach lounge chairs and umbrellas line Seashell Shore. They are available to all guests on the beach on a first come first served basis.

Avalar Lighthouse and ocean-view lookout area has coin operated binoculars which beach-goers can utilize to gaze out over the ocean and observe Avalar's incredible sea-life.

Seashell Shore is renowned for its great fishing spots. Professional sea bass anglers regularly rank it at the top of their list of best waters to fish.

Rally your friends for a game at our Olympic-grade beach volleyball court. Avalar Volleyball Club hosts very popular tournaments here. These tournaments are for players of all levels to earn bids and points towards National Championship events, and play for prizes in multiple age groups and divisions.

Cape Crustacean ​

Closed to the public. The creatures that inhabit this beach have a voracious appetite for both flesh and treasure. Many an explorer have fallen victim to these devilish decapods.

Swarms of crabs have infested this beach, those who are unfortunate enough to encounter them are devoured, leaving nothing but their picked-clean bones rolling in the waves.

Pear Park is a reserve for our island's native fruit and flora. Have a picnic on Pear Pond surrounded by the gorgeous native pear trees and green chrysanthemums.

Kids will wear themselves out bouncing, climbing, and jumping; and with easy access to the beach, pool, and Tiki Bar, you can get some much needed R&R while letting them do just that.

The Pear Park Snack Bar features some of the finest sweet snacks Avalar has to offer. Including doughnuts, shaved ice, pineapple whip, and fruit smoothies, fresh from the orchard nearby!

Moderate to full shade is available from the pear trees, and a picnic table is provided to share lunch with your family.

A popular swim spot is Pear Park Public Pool. This family-friendly saltwater pool is open to all park visitors. Pool toys and complementary towels are available upon request. Seating is limited, so show up early!

Midday Gardens ​

One of the most spectacular displays of natural color anywhere in the world, Avalar's Midday Gardens are a direct result of nearly 3 years of floral cultivation that all began with Resident Representative Roxie's burgeoning agricultural business.

These pastures contain a patchwork quilt of every flower that can grow in Avalar's tropical climate, operosely planted in an expansive rainbow spanning the horizon.

Midday Gardens not only showcases the artistry of nature, but also symbolizes the diligence of our island’s most important and influential pioneer.

Avalar Apiary practices environmentally friendly, sustainable beekeeping. Buying local honey helps keep the island's bee population well. Since bees are endangered, it's more vital than ever to buy your honey local, direct from the source!

Summer Forest ​

These mystical woods are overrun with enormous fungi. Still standing is a mysterious cliff-side stone structure that overlooks the sea. Surrounding the ruins is stunning bio-luminescent moss, which causes the forest glow with an eerie green light.

Spores from the glowing moss land in the waters of the ponds here, causing their waters to glimmer brilliantly. It is ill advised to inhale these glowing spores as they are said to cause psychoactive effects.

There have been numerous sightings of small winged creatures in the area that the locals refer to as fairies, but these reports are largely unconfirmed.

If you're feeling adventurous, rock climbing on Alpine Ridge makes for a thrilling challenge. Make it to the summit and be rewarded with stunning views of the entire island.

Idol Springs

A natural hot spring located at summit of the island. Idol Springs features public art in the form of a unique take on Michelangelo's David, generously donated by a local resident, Julian. Enjoy the view while soothing your muscles in the springs, surrounded by an arrangement of purple and blue wildflowers.

Bamboo Terrace

Bamboo Terrace is where Avalar's Tanabata festival, also known as the "Star festival" is held. During the festival, the park is transformed into a brightly colored forest with beautiful decorations up on display. As part of the celebration, it is customary to write a wish on a colorful strip of paper called a "tanzaku" and hang it up on the bamboo.

Tanabata originates from Chinese folklore, the holiday celebrates the meeting of the stars Orihime and Hikoboshi. Separated by the Milky Way, these lovers are only allowed to meet once a year; on the seventh day, of the seventh lunar month.

A single grave stone can be found in this park, it is that of Representative Roxie's late pet cat, and best friend Keiko.
It is Roxie's wish that they too may one day be reunited again.

Bamboo Terrace features two large waterfalls and a distinctive pattern of stones set in a pond. Legend has it there is a trick to stepping on these stones to reveal a secret passage.

The park is home to Avalar's population of snapping turtles. They are well socialized and accustomed to people, so long as you keep a respectable distance. That being said, visitors are advised to not point at turtles, and to watch their fingers!

Sanrio Pierroland

Sanrio Pierroland is the embodiment of kawaii culture. Welcoming to both children and adults alike, Pierroland is a fairy-tale fantasy come to life!

An overwhelming variety of pastel products await you at Pierroland! Loads of goodies featuring your favorite Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty, Keroppi, and Cinnamoroll! With heaps of limited edition products that can't be found anywhere else, souvenir shopping has never been easier!

Pierroland is the ultimate place to visit if you’re a fan, but even if you don’t care much about Sanrio characters, it’s still a great place to indulge in cuteness and tasty treats!

Even the amusement park rides of Pierroland fit the park's aesthetic to a T! Ride atop intricately hand painted carousel horses, or hop in the Ferris wheel for an unbeatable view of the whole park! The concession stands are styled to look like a train filled with goodies. Hop aboard, and for just 1 bell anyone can be the conductor of the Snack Train!

There's a huge variety of adorable beverages on the menu. If you're craving something refreshing, rainbow bubble tea is the perfect summer treat! In the winter months, a sweet and creamy brown sugar milk tea is available to warm your spirit.
