Flowers appear before me

Am I going crazy?

I was at the train station a moment ago. I walked to the beach where I heard the town bell strike 7PM. When I walked back to the station I found a white rose at the corner of my red rose path. I didn't put it there.

Yesterday I noticed a flower popping up before my eyes. A villager was close by so I figured he put it there, but I found it strange that it was the exact same flower as the surrounding ones. It was a little before 7PM.

Did I just witness flowers growing or did villagers put them there?

The villagers planted them for you. They are trying to be helpful. Sometimes, they are. Sometimes, not so much.

Villagers plant flowers similar to what is there. For example, I have pink and white lilies surrounding my fountain. I just watched Egbert plant another white lily. Also, red and white roses, my villagers plant red and white roses. So, villagers put them there.

I never knew they had hybrid knowledge, aside from some suggestions to put 2 red flowers together. Thanks~

My villagers do it all the time. It's kind of cute when you watch them. They'll freeze and have a thinking expression and their arm under their chn(the kind you get when you look in your inventory) and plant them. I normally destroy them but it's still a cute act to witness c:
