so, this generally wasn't an issue until recently (like, super recent, with the halloween to normal change back with the skin), but my eyes are absolute crap. super sensitive to light. i was just wondering if there was a way to change the skin on the forum for each user, or if there was only one default for everyone?

definitely not looking for anyone to cater to me - just wondering if there's a less bright option to switch my look to so it's easier on my eyes when scrolling the forum.

Hi @6iixx,

I'm afraid we do not have any alternative options available. All I can suggest is lowering the brightness on your device while browsing the forum.

thank you for the quick response! not a problem, i'm sure it's mostly just a change because the switch happened while i was on the forum c:

If you're on iphone/ipad, the reduce white point option in the accessibility settings helps me and my sensitive eyes a lot, and you can set is as a shortcut so you can just switch it on on sites/apps that affect you ☺ Not sure about other devices, but good luck!

I'm not sure if this'll help, but on newer Samsung phones there is a blue light filter. I think there's more stuff to adjust the screen display in the settings maybe. Not sure if other phones/tablets/laptops ect... have that option but I imagine they have somethin similar.

unfortunately i'm on my desktop :c

but i really appreciate all your suggestions ♥

Off but also kinda on topic but didn't the forums used to change colors with the time of day/year? I remember the grass looking orange or brown once (unless I'm just remembering wrong)

I recommend getting a blue light remover app or use flux on your computer. It's not as good as a dark theme but I've found it helps my eyes. You're technically supposed to only use them during nights to help you sleep but I use it all day everyday. Switching back to using the blue light from the non blue light is a huge difference! I find the blue light burns my eyes now after getting so used to using flux.

Yes, the sky changed color depending on the time of day and the grass/tree changed with the season.

Those changes haven't come back since the switch to Xenforo because all of them have to be remade but hopefully they'll return eventually.

I purchased some blue light filter glasses the other month and I've actually found them really helpful. because of my medication my eyes are really sensitive to light so I have the same issues, I know it's not always possible but it might be worth it for you c:

Our seasonal/time of day changes are currently in development and will definitely be making a return. :)

I use TBT on my desktop a lot and I have a Chrome extension called Dark Reader which makes all web pages dark/inverse white. so instead of the forum being off-white it's a nice dark brown color, much easier on the eyes. it also makes the sky in the banner a darker color. if you use Chrome you could try that :)

there used to be a way to change themes- unless i'm thinking of another forum.
i also have dark reader, and it's adjustable so you can make everything entirely black or just sepia. this thread has some really great suggestions- i hope your eyes will have some relief!

There was on the old forum, where you could have "Undercover" that made it more minimalist iirc.

Yeah, I would really love a dark option though, that olive green extension kinda suck cause it ruins most other sites, but I'll look into flux for sure.
