I'm back for the annual art raffle wherein I (Renn) make an art piece of your choice, should you choose to enter your name. Rules below!
I love starting the year with a sense of gratitude and charity, and this art raffle is always a way to get myself into that mindset. TY for befriending me and giving me a place to practice my art. My TBT art history would not be the same without you.

Only 2 months later, but here we are... Here's the final piece for Hatori of their OC Yue! I loved the intricate details and I'm proud of the colors and composition. The wispy smoke sleeves are such a cool concept!

2024 was a tough year for me, and I had to step away from making as much art as I usually do. I miss chatting with people about their characters and their stories-- I'm always amazed by the imaginative ideas blooming from your amazing brains.

I stopped posting art and trading art because I hit this wall of self-doubt. I was busy browsing beautiful art and didn't feel like my own work was living up to what I had in mind, but this year I'm going to allow myself to make art that isn't perfect or amazing or of mass appeal.

I just dropped a sketch up on the main post of a flapper couple ready to celebrate New Years-- it's what I was inspired by yesterday and also I thought having an image would be good to entice the visual thinkers.

In case anyone is interested in the stages, I finished the New Year's art:

Sketch:

Lineart and color block:

Grayscale lighting planning:

Colorizing (basically the flat color stage with each flat color clipped to the base grayscale):

Final piece with enhanced shadows and lights and effects:

I got too lazy to color the lineart or to do the paintover for the more painterly look, but that would be the next two stages for a fancypants version. ^_^
