This has probably been asked a bazillion times already. But, what are some free programs/websites I can download/use on my laptop? My end goal is to make a banner for my giveaway, since the art shops I was going to hit up are closed or haven't been bumped in quite a while. Photo editing would be cool too. I assume PhotoShop cost money.

I know my laptop has somethin called 3D Paint right now, but I've never used it.

3d paint as in the ms paint one? no pls dont use it.
i know plenty of art programmes but not sure of ones for banners. maybe gimp but im not sure

Idk if it's MS or 3D, I just kinda skimmed it.

I'll try gimp on my laptop, last time I tried to use it on my phone I couldn't get it to start.

I personally use Paint.net a bunch, it typically gets the job done and has transparency. It is not as expansive as Adobe Photoshop and is easy to get the hang of. The main issue I have with it is that it combines cutting on all layers... Not sure if I am missing something to avoid that yet. You would probably be better off with Gimp!

medibang paint babeeey!! its a bit confusing at first but its a really great program

I use Medibang Paint too and once you figure it out, it's so useful and pretty easy to use.

I use Fire Alpaca for my art, which that's the only program that seems comfortable to me, and for budget. There's also Photoshop, Adobe Illustrate, Krita, and Medibang Paint.

oh good this thread got revived, I was just going to go look for it.

I know a friend who uses Medibang (I think, pretty sure) but she uses it to draw, I want to go the more graphics route, like how people make signature and stuff.

Also, is there a website people use as a master site for backrounds? Again like signature stuff.

Photofiltre is another free programme I used to use before Photoshop! Its got a interface very similar to PS and is fairly easy to use. The only downside is that it can't handle gifs or animations.

As far as backgrounds for signature purposes, usually google searching what you're after (like flowers or something) plus words like "kawaii", "pixel", "anime" usually works really well lol. Tumblr always has nice backgrounds too! DA is pretty good for pixels, but I don't really know myself how to find them apart from stumbling across them lol

Ah nice, I'm usually more so worried that I'll use a backround for somethin, but it's somethin someone owns and that I don't have the rights to use their artwork.
