Tried seeing if there was a thread about this and I couldn't find one so I apologize if I missed something and if there's already one

But I wanted to create a thread for people to post their gaming goals/plans for this year

For me my goals are:

  • Finish Life is Strange 2
  • Play/finish Life is Strange True Colors
  • Play/finish Life is Strange Double Exposure
  • Play a lot more of the game Wylde Flowers
  • Play Tavern Talk
  • Beat the first Kingdom Hearts game, or at least get further in it
  • I'd also like to play some of Hogwarts Legacy

That's my gaming goals for 2025 :) How about you all?

Honestly, I just want to play the games on my list. Life is so busy that I buy all these games but never play em lol. My goal is to beat one game this year!

My main goal is to branch out and get into more genres. So far, I've been succeeding. I can now say I enjoy fashion games, single-player FPS games, and open-world Western RPGs.

I usually finish 14-25 games a year, but considering I plan to play a good amount of longer games. that number may be lower this year. If I get at least 10 games done I'll be content.

My main goal is to get at least halfway in FF VII and Kingdom Hearts II and defeat the final boss in Echoes of Wisdom and then trying to get as close to 100% completion as I can when I start a new game.

I'm going to try complete the games I got for my birthday. I'm notoriously bad at finishing video games, so I'm going to try and do those. I've already started into Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy (I thought it was a professor Layton game, turns out it follows his daughter, Katrielle, so that was a small surprise when I got it) and LEGO Hobbit (this one is more of a joke game that I got, one that I wouldn't have to take seriously and laugh about with my dad who likes LOTR). Monster Hunters: Generations also arrived today, and it seems like a game I can get into. I'm definitely going to try and explore more games in the LoZ realm, seeing as Oot, MM, ST, and Hyrule Warriors are the only ones I've played so far (if I'm remembering correctly, but there might be another one).

In relation to Animal Crossing, I'm going to stop time travelling. I'm not a crazy time traveller, but it happens a lot so the days aren't synced up properly. So I'm going turrn over a new leaf (hehe) in that respect. Other than that, I'm going to play more regularly, hopefully.

My biggest goal is honestly to just get back into gaming, period. The past several months have been rough, and I've been too busy and fatigued to play much of anything. Other than "no thoughts, head empty" mobile games and occasionally playing games with friends, I haven't really played anything for myself since summer.

My more specific goals are mostly short-term ones since I'd like to accomplish them within the next few months. :]

Try out almost all of the minigames in Super Mario Party Jamboree - I got to play a good chunk of them during the Party-Planner Trek and really enjoyed almost all the ones I played, but I don't believe I've played all of them yet! I kinda want to play the remaining ones before I play with others so that I know what I'm doing, but!! We'll see!! I just can't play the motion-control minigames since I have a switch lite and no joy-cons.

Play and complete MySims and MySims Kingdom - I preordered the MySims: Cozy Bundle in November and still haven't played either game. I'll probably start with MySims Kingdom since that's the game I'm most excited about! The DS version was one of my favourite games growing up (I actually still have it!), and I'm excited to see how the wii version is different! I'm actually hoping to start playing it tonight!
Complete my outstanding cosmicubes in Among Us - I haven't been up to playing Among Us much lately, either, so I have 3 cosmicubes to complete; the Claws cosmicube from Halloween (76% complete!), and the Snowbean and Snowflake cosmicubes from Christmas. I'm hoping to have them complete before the next cube(s) come out, but I'm not sure how doable that is. Hopefully I'll have them done by spring, at least!!
Try out MK8D - I bought it when I bought SMPJ last month, but I still... haven't played it... or even opened it. It feels like playing it will be kinda confusing and overwhelming since just watching other people play it looked confusing and overwhelming, but hopefully it's actually Not and I'll ease into it once I start playing! I'm excited to have it and to be able to play it with others during future TBT events!!
Get the remaining Saharah walls and rugs I need (and maybe the furniture I'm missing) in New Horizons - I don't really play New Horizons anymore, but I still want to get the Saharah stuff I'm missing for my catalog and Harv's island purposes! I'm missing 4 walls and 4 rugs; I've been time-travelling to try and get them since it'll feel more accomplishing than if I bought or cataloged them from someone else. I might also try to get the last furniture items I'm missing via HHP or something! I'm missing 7 items.
Get back into Cozy Grove - I haven't played since the summer and I miss my ghost bears so much!! I miss doing tasks for them and catching critters and fishes with the silliest names I've ever heard. I just miss playing. : ( I've been hoping to start playing again next month since that'll be a year since I played for the first time, but I might start playing again sooner cause I miss it so bad. I'm also hoping to catch the critters and fish I missed last February and spring!
Buy and play (and maybe, hopefully complete) The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and Little Kitty, Big City - I've been interested in these games for a while, but have yet to actually buy them (aside from HKIA since the switch version isn't out yet)! I don't want to get all of them at once and I probably won't be able to buy 1-2 until around my birthday, but I'm definitely hoping to get them this year!! I'll probably get Echoes of Wisdom first since it'll be my first Zelda game and I'm excited to try it out!

I have been so hyper focused on ACNH specifically my restarted second island and Pokemon Violet. I really want to complete or get further in a bunch of games. Some I have had for years but keep putting off .

Zelda games : I have a bunch of Zelda games that I really want to get back into or start . I still haven’t even finished breath of the Wild even though I got it back in 2020.
I also have Skyward Sword, Age of Calamity and Tears of the kingdom.

I recently got MySims cozy bundle : I would like to complete either MySims or MySims kingdom.

I got Hogwarts Legacy awhile ago but haven’t gotten very far in it. I probably won’t complete it but would like to get further in it.

Other games I would like to complete or at least get further in :
Harvestella
Pokémon Arceus
Grow : Song of the Evertree

i have been struggling to be in the mood to play games lately but i do have a list of stuff i would like to get to as they are rotting in my steam inventory lol...
  1. finish resident evil 2 and killer frequency
  2. begin person 3 DLC (i'm really looking forward to this one!)
  3. final fantasy 7 rebirth coming out on 1/23 for pc
  4. get back into cyberpunk (i'm like 70% through the game so i'm pretty close to the ending)
  5. start metaphor: refantazio (i've heard very good things about this game and it's the same company who made persona so i do think it will be very good)
  6. start like a dragon: infinite wealth (i bought this on sale a while back and i loved the previous game so i really want to play this one as well)
a future release i'm really looking forward to is inZOI as i think it has real potential to be a sims replacement. the game looks great and i just can't wait for another life sims to take over from the sims already.

The only real gaming goals I have for this year are to finish 20 games, with at least 15 of those games being things from my backlog that I haven't finished yet, and at least 5 of those 15 being games I got for Christmas and soon my birthday. So far I've beaten 2 games this year, both from Christmas, so definitely making some progress on those goals already. I don't have any specific goals beyond that since I'm more focused on just reducing my backlog, lol, though it'd be nice if I could go back and 100% Cult of the Lamb at some point.

I mostly want to work through my gaming backlog. I just finished The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom yesterday to almost 100%, and some other games I'd like to play and/or finish this year are Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, A Hat in Time, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Hogwarts Legacy, and Banjo-Tooie. I'm also kind of interested in trying out a Donkey Kong game

I'm also hoping to work on my game backlog! And since I have access to my PC again, I'm going to try to increase my average game completion stats on Steam. I'm currently at 63% and I'd like to get to 65%.

there are a few games coming out this year (3 next month!) that i'm interested in. i'd like to complete as many as possible this year

also to keep checking out genres that i haven't played a lot of such as roguelikes. and would like to try out a monster collector type game other than pokémon. morsels looks great

I don't really have much, but.

  • Play My Singing Monsters.
  • Reach 50kVR on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe before Mario Kart on Switch 2 comes out.
And I doubt I'll do this one, but...

  • Finish my New Horizons Island before 2025 is over.
I've been wanting to play My Singing Monsters since 2022, but I never got around to do it. I just need to play it once to count it out.

Reaching 50kVR on 8DX sounds easy, if you're doing it on Regionals, but I'm strictly doing this on Worldwides since I'm good at the game and prefer a fair matchup against my skill level. Right now I have 29kVR, and boy is it hard.

Now, my Island is a City Island, but it's been quite difficult how I want to shape and build everything. When I try, I usually tear them down, and most of the time I'm too lazy to even build at all. So I put this one as a maybe as it's not a big priority on my goal for 2025.

There may be more, but I haven't thought of any right now.

My biggest gaming priority is reaching perfection in Stardew Valley! I haven't unlocked Mr. Qi's walnut room so I can't check my perfection tracker, but I'd presume I made a decent amount of progress; I've gotten every mineral, artifact, and fish, as well as shipped most items and reached max friendship with most NPCs. I also want to try to collect every hat in the game, which basically equates to... Reaching perfection and getting every achievement. (0^0") Getting the living hat is gonna be such a pain, lol.

I would also like to beat at least one Zelda game this year, which would most likely be The Minish Cap or Link's Awakening. After that, I'd like to try and beat Tears of the Kingdom, Twilight Princess, and Echoes of Wisdom!

Oh, gaming goals are such a cool idea! (❁´◡`❁)
Let's see, hmm.

- Get and play Skyrim. I've been wanting to try it for years.
- Give the Silent Hill 2 remake a chance. Who knows.
- Keep working on my shiny living dex. ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
- More The Last of Us. There's never enough TLOU.
- More New Leaf, I miss it!

That's about it for now. I want to be ambitious and add Stardew Valley to the mix but I have yet to play since the 1.6 update dropped and my autistic tail is lowkey afraid of change so.

Finish The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which has been on hold for over three months now.
Replay Mass Effect trilogy after 10 years.
Start Red Dead Redemption 2 or restart Death Stranding. Or just play any other PS4 game from those patiently waiting on the shelf.

Oh, and almost forgot about very important one: play Disco Elysium one last time to get those last few achievements.

I’m not sure if I’ll fulfill this since I keep getting sidetracked with other things (like right now Genshin is taking my attention), but here is what I’d like to do:

-Finish my playthrough of Persona 5 Royal
-Get back to working a bit on my second ACNH island and my island journal
-Pick up FFXII where I left off and finish it (I rather not have to restart)
-Play and complete Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
-Finish or restart and complete Persona 5 Strikers
-Play and complete FFVII

Doing even only one of these would be great. 🙂

I'm hoping this is the year I finally complete my national dex in Pokemon Home at some point. And generally I just want to finish as many incomplete games as I can.
