Try restarting your wii. Don't worry it's probably not your router, on all the forums people are complaining about this "communication error" so just try again, but if it doesn't work don't worry about it, it'll just be a problem with nintendo

there was a communiction error...I selected your town but when it was making the inquiry it failed.

Yes that's happening a lot with all AC:CF users, just try again (maybe try switching your wii and router off and unplugging as it worked for other people). Don't worry, it's a nintendo problem.
