George floyd murder sentence

He was given 22 years.
I wanted to know others thoughts on the subject.

Personally I'm not sure how I feel as I don't know all the info surrounding it. Only the jury will know that. But I do know it was one hell of an excessive force that is far from part of the job.

I cant say if it was a hate crime. But I do know that man has issues and should not have had any form of power.

I mean jesus, what on earth was that?

Hopefully by the time Chauvin sees the light of day again, murders by police won't be a regular occurrence in America anymore and it won't be such a big deal when he is released. Chauvin is still facing federal civil rights charges which could carry up to life in prison if he's convicted on those, so he may ultimately end up spending more than 22 years in prison.

I also don't think it's enough, especially when you take into account the possibility of an early parole. But at least it's better than the slap on the wrist that others have gotten. Hopefully, this will be a turning point.

It's a good start but it's not enough. There is a huge problem with cops not just in America but all over the world getting away with s--- like this every day, and worse. It needs to change. If they started coming down on them harder, for example maybe giving a life sentence for doing something like Chauvin did - then maybe cops would take their jobs more seriously and carefully, and other countries would hopefully follow suit in punishing their cops as well.

22.5 years isn’t enough. no amount of time will ever be enough. chauvin could rot in prison for the rest of his life, and not even that would be punishment enough. because of him, philonise and terrence floyd are without their brother. because of him, gianna floyd is without her father and no amount of punishment will ever make that right. i’m angry for george floyd, for his family. i’m angry that chauvin will be eligible for parole in 15 years and that since he’s a former cop, he’ll likely be protected while behind bars. i’m angry that there are still so many police brutality victims that have yet to receive any sort of justice. i’m angry that i, along with so many others, truly doubted that chauvin would receive any punishment at all. what kind of world do we live in, where we have to beg and fight and rebel for justice for a murder victim, all because of the colour of his skin? it’s ridiculous and i hate how this happens every day. there’s always another knee on one’s neck, another name popping up in headlines. it’s unfair. nobody deserves this. chauvin’s sentencing may be a start for some, but not to me. not when i could write more books than i’d know what to do with, filled with nothing but the names of police brutality victims that remain without justice.
