Yes I think it’s RNG trolling at it’s finest. I have the same experience, and not only that, it also seems that I tend to get the same items at nook’s/able’s/balloons over and over again. I would even consider myself lucky if I get a different color variant, but most of the times not so much.

I usually just hit them on the head with a net and they go away. I know thats harsh but it works.

There is one item in particular that my villagers seem to LOVE to give me. Or it certainly feels like it anyway. The After-School Jacket. I don't know why, but it's been a popular gifting item my villagers love to give me. It has been since launch. Drives me crazy.

me too, I get after school jackets like the plague. That, and they love giving me aprons and and chefs outfits. Everyone loves to give me a chef outfit.
