Golden Shovel Knight amiibo

After being on preorder for more than a year, the Shovel Knight 3 pack is out. While picking that up, I noticed a new Golden Shovel Knight. Would anyone know if it does the same things as the normal Shovel Knight amiibo?

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but I was curious about a different thing with regards to Shovel Knight. I thought this release was going to be coupled with Nintendo Switch game cartridges, but they have disappeared off of Amazon and now just say "Unavailable." Was the physical release abandoned? Quite disappointing if it was. I was looking forward to owning a physical copy of Shovel Knight. I did not pre-order it because they absolutely refused to put a solid date on its release. I don't understand why this was all such a logistical disaster for them.

Another odd thing, the game says "this amiibo is not supported" when I tried to scan King Knight in the 3ds download copy. Back of the package says what it does in game, it doesn't specify which version of the game though. Shenanigans may be afoot.

Back of the amiibo package has logos for switch, 3ds and oddly wiiU. I doubt there is an update for the 3ds version. I don't see a glowing dot. Was able to scan all three in Smash for Switch for spirits. Other people on youtube are using them, but they aren't mentioning whey they're playing the game on. Also didn't know there was a spin-off game called Shovel Knight Dig.

My local gamestop did happen to get a physical copy for the switch. $40 of course, should have all the dlc and such.

The back of the package features cosmetic outfits, fairy companions, and mentions vague additional challenge stages.

You have to go into the eshop, look up the game, and select the update to download. 1378 blocks. That didn't work.

Does the icon have the purple or gold background? Because I had to redownload the game for it to work. Even though it said had the latest update, I wasn’t able to play King of Cards.

Gold. I can play as Specter, Plague, and King Knight. Still says the amiibo aren't compatible. Can't check the normal Shovel knight amiibo, misplaced it a while ago. Probably put it somewhere so I wouldn't lose it.

Strange, maybe it’ll work after a later update, or it just isn’t compatible with the game.

Have you updated the game to 4.0A? I was able to scan all the amiibo with no problem at all.

Deleted and redownloaded the title. I now have a King's Knight fairy following me.

I don't even know if you can get the three-pack in my country (Australia), let alone the Shovel Knight amiibo itself. I've seen it listed on Amazon AU, but elsewhere, no.
