Golden Shovel?

Just wondering about the Golden shovel. What does it actually do? Does it increase the value of the fruit trees that you plant?

the golden items are rarer and can do more things than the normal items
Gold Shovel= ability to make money trees and randomly dig up money
Gold Axe= Never brakes
Gold Rod= easier to catch fish
Gold net= Easier to catch bugs
Gold Slngshot= fires 3 pellets at once
Golden Watering can=if a wilted flower is watered by it it definitly wont die and the ability to grow golden roses

I've tried randomly digging up money with my golden shovel, and I never got any..

One thing about the golden shovel is that Nook only takes it for 125 bells. I thought they would sell for WAY more.
