Just bought a sealed copy of ACNL from Argos. Got home, removed the seal and opened the box. NO GAME!!!
Very angry and confused! What should I do? If I take it back to the shop, they will think I just removed the game.
Has this ever happened to anyone before?

Most definitely take it back! Make sure you have your receipt with you, as well. This happened to me with a copy of Kingdom Hearts 3D and it was so irritating, as well as a copy of LEGO Star Wars III.

Supposedly the games are weighed by Nintendo, so there's nothing you can do. They'll tell you to take it to the store you bought it from. After some research it appears that people are steaming the packaging open or something & taking the game out, resealing it, and returning it. That and the people who work returns aren't looking and are resealing the games and putting them back on the shelves.

I hope it all works out for you!

Thanks! I'll take it back and see what happens.

good luck man.. but yeah as long as you have the receipt with you you should be fine. just complain enough and yeah i don't think nintendo themselves can do much really since someone probably took it out and returned etc. as someone pointed out above.

they should have the cartridges behind desk imo not out in public unless they have good security.

Heya I'm sure this is not the first time it happened and I'd say they probably would come across same problems from other people so just take it back. When did you buy it?

This hasn't happened to me but I did buy a copy of ACNL and the game wasn't in the place where the game card goes, it was hidden behind the like booklet and club Nintendo codes (rip club Nintendo)

Keep us posted, because regardless of what "they" think - you're in the right. Take it back and tell them the full story because after all as I said, you're in the right and you've done nothing wrong at all!

I've personally never had this happen to me but I can tell you just how angry I'd be if it were to happen, so yeah I suggest and agree with others posting in this thread; take it back, get the receipt go to town on their ass's hehe. Hope everything works out for you dude/dudette.

If you are looking to exchange the game, rather than asking for a refund, then there is no reason for them to be suspicious. It's when you start asking for money that the sirens go off in their head.

If the shop assistants are of no use (make sure to talk to the manager if whoever is at the register doesn't believe you), you can make a complaint over the phone or through email: https://www.argos.co.uk/help/contact-us/

Went down Today and explained it to them.
They were alright about it and just exchanged it for another copy. No questions asked. ☺️
Argos is a catalogue retailer so everything is kept in the back.

Yeah or they keep redirecting to sending your stuff to Nintendo etc. because of their "Nintendo policy" they have to follow -_- But yeah I've dealt with many crappy employees at electronic/game stores.

Anyways, glad you got another copy at last :)

what **** ups. glad everything worked out though. :)

Glad everything went okay! Had something similar happen - they put the wrong/a totally different CD in my game case. Always check now before I leave. :)

Man that SUCKS. T^T

Glad you got the game in the end, but that is really strange. I wish they'd actually check the games (even if they are sealed), because I've heard stories of getting a damaged game or not getting one at all. And if the game was sealed, then they can re-seal it after checking it especially if the game was re-sold. It's the same with toys that don't have a see-through plastic cover.

This happened to me before with gamestop and they told me it was against their policy

What did they mean by it's 'against their policy'?
