Grass Petition

I don't understand why you need to explore your entire town anyway. Just stick to the same areas every day and you should have a town that looks fine. the making your owns paths thing was a good idea it actually makes the game customizable like many people were complaining about in the last game.
Wifi.. people who don't care... that's my answer.

Why would you have people that are like that come to your town if you care about it that much?

Oh my god, this is sooo funny. Anyone who thinks sending a petition to Nintendo will do anything is definitely insane.

I signed it, but it's not like Nintendo is going to do anything about it now, I mean what about all the people that don't have a connection to the internet? Besides, even though I have complained about this feature in the past, I now have a different look on things. Now I kind of like this feature in a way, i mean it does give you a challenge of trying not to wear your grass away, but I can see how it can be devastating to some when it becomes almost impossible to make a snowman.

like someone said earlier... why have people over that "don't care" if you're actively trying to regrow your grass? i'm personally trying to regrow my grass, and every single person that's come to my town has been pretty much taken back at how many flowers i have everywhere in my town. i have people on my friend roster that i would trust to have over and totally just leave my gates open and not play for an hour. if you have people that would do otherwise, i suggest you edit your friends. =)

i agree... but if people let their towns get so bad (while they're watching it wear away every day...) without making paths and asking people to use the paths instead, maybe they kind of deserve it. it's like... don't put your hand on this extremely hot stove... and you do it anyway then complain? don't get it.

also, wanted to add this... like i've said before... here's another example...
mr. albert begins making *millions of dollars on icecream, and he has 2 flavors - chocolate and vanilla.
**6,000,000 people buy chocolate icecream.
***15,000 people buy vanilla icecream, and they hate chocolate so much that they think mr. albert needs to just totally do away with it so they never have to see it again.

*the amount of money nintendo is making off of this game.
**the amount of animal crossing: city folk copies that will likely be sold before the price drops below 60 US dollars, the regular starting price of most video games upon release.
***the probable amount of people that have signed this petition so far; it may be less, or more, but i'm too lazy to check.

...no, it's not happening. you're not even taking into consideration some major important things about this ridiculous petition...
- nintendo focuses on making primarily the japanese player base happy since they get most of their money from japanese players. this is why nintendo has more DLC for them, more nintendo based events with prizes if you attend, and game consoles and games are released sooner there - with unlimited supply, as opposed to our wal-marts and etc. only getting 6 wiis a week (example, sometimes it was even less than 6 in my city), when the wii first game out.
- this petition is only in english. english is not the only language on the planet people that play animal crossing on-line speak.
- the game is already released, and all games have features you may like or dislike. they are not going to undo something they spent millions of dollars to create. the most you'll get out of them is a promise that the future animal crossing games won't have this feature because of the sheer numbers of people complaining vs. the amount of copies being sold... the best advice i can tell you is to make a petition saying not to even buy this game.
- it would cost millions of dollars to undo this feature to make not even a fraction of the players happy... most players actually like this aspect of the game...

you don't see people making petitions to bring back NES games, to make your animal friends clap when you catch fish like they did in previous animal crossing games, to bring back the cute little voice that said nintendo when the game first started up, to bring back rred and the other random characters coming to your town even though they live in the city, and i could go on and on... point: there's a lot of crap in this game a lot of people don't like, but they take it and don't whine about it 24/7.

Wow, you must have put a lot of thought into this, but now that I have read it you seem to be completely right. The more and more I think about that petition, the more stupid it looks. It's not like Nintendo is going to change everything we don't like, right? I'm just happy with the way my new town is right now, and I don't stray off the paths that I made much, because I don't want all of my town to be covered in brown. This grass feature is a obstacle that you have to overcome, as there are many obstacles is many video games. This petition would be like a petition saying "Please Make the Mario Games Easier!" It's not going to happen.
