I'm not really sure what to vote on because my family barely decorates for any holiday nowadays. It's been a couple of years since the last time we were even properly decorated for Halloween.
It's like most of the spirit for these things is just gone. My mom even attempted to cancel Christmas last year (!?) but everyone ignored her.
I'm not even sure what to vote for as there's nothing up right now and I don't remember anything being up last year either. I might get out two tiny Halloween plushies I have, but that's not really much. There certainly won't be anything put up outside...
I don't decorate or celebrate Halloween. For me, October is like November but without the mud and it has pretty leaves.
I think Christmas is the only holiday I decorate for, and it's just me putting up a manger scene if I'm not too stressed or feeling too bad.
don't really hit up halloween decorations anywhere tbh. though last year a massive spoober on a tree startled me initially!! i eventually got accustomed to its presence though (i think it was there for the whole month).
A bunch of my Halloween decorations stay up all year long, since they're part of the regular house decor.
The rest, which is mainly comprised of my childhood Halloween items, go up September or, if it's been a rough year (been a lot of those lately...) then they go up in August.
My philosophy is that Halloween is for October. Especially where I live once October ends, Christmas begins. Besides I live in an apartment and they dictate the outdoor decorations. Inside is all Christmas from November to the end of January.
I'm going with the month of October. There's no reason for the decorations to go up any earlier. I'm already seeing Christmas stuff in stores, and I'm just thinking "did they just skip Halloween and American Thanksgiving?" I see Christmas decorations earlier and earlier each year it seems.
i don’t really decorate for halloween nowadays, but i have a little halloween/fall decoration display in my room that i keep up year-round! it’s nothing spectacular, but it’s nice to look at haha
I would have them all year round but family is against it. I have some in my room but I put the ones outside only on Halloween day, I don't want to damage them.
I don’t usually decorate personally but voted for the month of October as I always view the whole month as the spooky month so having the decorations up for the whole time seems suitable, plus it means that people that really like Halloween can make the most out of their decorations.
While I'm the sort who appreciates spooky knick knacks inside the home year round, for exterior house decoration for Halloween I would say put them up in either late September or the first couple days of October, keep them up for the whole month of October, and then wait until at least November 3rd to take them down since I like to keep the horror train rolling through the 1st and 2nd of November in alignment with the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos. Día de Muertos is its entirely own distinct, different thing that I respect, and would like to celebrate properly in the future, though thus far I've primarily just used the days as an off-ramp for Halloween where I watch some of my favorite George A. Romero zombie movies and then transition into November proper. But I digress, the November part is my own personal quirk. I feel like the Halloween decorations should at least be up for the whole month of October.
I only have a few Halloween decorations, but they usually go up in late September! I love seeing other peoples Halloween decorations and when they go up even in early September, I never feel like it's "too early".
