Hanging lightbulb question:

I recently acquired Frett as a villager. His house has the sloppy series, which I love.

I really think that having a hanging lightbulb in the middle of the ceiling would totally fit in with the rest of the aesthetic. I bought one and gave it to him as a gift. I couldn’t wait to visit him the next day to see it.

Much to my dismay, it wasn’t hanging. I was so disappointed.

My question is: can I, as the player, hang the lightbulb in his house myself?

you can customize villagers houses but i believe you need the DLC for it, at least you need the DLC for hanging ceiling items. you need to advance in the DLC a certain amount to unlock the ability to customize houses, tom nook mentions the ability to do so after a while.

If you have HHP and have unlocked the ability to customize villager houses through it, then yes, you can.

You need to complete the main story of it, basically. Doing 30 vacation homes + 6 facilities unlocks the DJ KK concert. After you attend the concert, you can go to the Resident Services building and Tom Nook will give you the option to customize your villager's houses.
