as we all know, groundhog day was created by hicks... as an excuse to not go to work, and spend the day getting wasted. and of course, the rest of the country cannot ignore such a holiday, and thus, Groundhog Day was born... so that not just the town of Punxatauny could get wasted, but the whole country.
