It seems like there’s so much to take care of and plan in this new DLC that I am worried that I will neglect our own town. It seems just as in-depth as the main game, and so I have no idea how I am suppose to balance the two.

I’ve played Happy Home Designer and based on my experience, doing a few houses one after the other in a row gets tired pretty fast so I don’t think it’ll be that big of a problem. If it’s gonna be similar there won’t be much interactions like in our own islands so you’ll want to spend more time on your own island for sure. Basically, HHD is just a superior Harv’s photo studio as in its fun to do every so often but it’s not similar to actual animal crossing gameplay. Unless your gameplay is more heavy on design and less on the life sim side then you’ll probably spend more time playing it than the actual game. Otherwise, I’m thinking around 3-5 houses in a single play will be more than enough for one play session then back to our normal island life.

Don't forget though, the more houses you design the more furniture/techniques you unlock : ) i'll be looking forward to at least getting through enough to get my island plenty of nifty extra design methods+poki for new items! at least by doing HHP we unlock some wonderful stuff for our main island. I'll most likely divide up time for both or dive into HHP later and get all unlocked.

Personally, I would aim to unlock the new decorating features in HHP so I can also do it on my own island as early as I can.

Also, HHP can get really repetitive, much like HHD. So I'd probably just do several house requests to earn enough Poki to purchase all the new items that day.

in my eyes, it can be a fun bonus thing to do to round off the day once you've done your regular playing/island caretaking so i'm not too worried that it'll take all of my energy, although I do definitely want to unlock everything on my own island so I will be playing a fair bit. hopefully the hype of new items will carry you over to maintaining your island at the same time. plus like others have said, HHD tended to get repetitive after a while so I'd imagine HHP will be the same - there's only so much decorating one can handle in a day, so I wouldn't worry about getting overly carried away!

You won't have to do all the stuff as quickly as possible. I played happy home designer for the 3DS and I used to just design a couple of houses each day to wind down after work, it was always nice and relaxing and I'm really excited to have that again :)

Just play a little bit each day and you'll still be able to get the most out of the dlc no problem

Also keep in mind HHP's island is not something you have to maintain like your main island.

Weeds aren't going to grow, villagers aren't going to get mad or anything.

Its just for you to come by, make some houses, interact and go back.

Back in HHD they allow like one villager house and one facilities thru the day and I think the same apply to NH. I am more excited with bringing the new design back to my own island!

I forgot you had to start a new day in order to decorate another house. Makes me wonder if they will do the same or set a limit on how many you can decorate.

I hope not! Cause afterall it is link to our island I love it to be part of it (of cause with the unlimited space archipelago)

This could also be nice for less design burnout if it happens, could be a good wayy to relax in that case and start fresh each day : )

I can see myself abandoning my town for a while while playing around in HHP. 😅 But I'm sure I'll still check in with my villagers, especially when I can redesign their home. It's nice to have options.

Yea I wouldn’t mind if they did limit how many you can decorate each day. I think I would only decorate up to three each day anyway.

I already abandon my island as it is lol.
But as many people have already said, you'll probably burn out. I did at least with HHD. I'd do two houses and get bored.

I'm going to approach it more like just another feature of the game. It will be there when I want to use it, but it's not something I have to do every time I log on.

Nintendo might limit it to 1 house per day similar to HHD. Of course HHD didn't run off real-time, so you were free to start a new day whenever you felt like it. New Horizons however requires you to wait or TT to get to a new day.

Designing multiple homes in one setting does get pretty tiring though. In New Horizons, it'll just be 1 extra daily chore to do per day.

I really hope not! Honestly I just want the benefits of HHP, without actually playing HHP 😅
The new items.
The ability of more design options in my island.

I'd like the options as soon as possible, so I think I'll work towards that, but once I get it, maybe continue like 1 or two houses a day.

With Happy Home Designer I would only do one house per day and I enjoyed that so I'll probably take things at the same pace with HHP.
