How do you decide on which island you place your villager?
And is it possible to move or evict them from that island if I want to place another villager there?

I only recently started playing the expansion. I designed 5 homes so far but I already picked some spots I'd like to reuse.

How do you decide on which island you place your villager?
Either I go with what's fitting on theme, or based on the animal itself.

And is it possible to move or evict them from that island if I want to place another villager there?
You can keep using the same island over and over if you want. There is no need to move the previous villagers you've placed there.

Still, if you choose to move them to a different island, visit them and talk to them. Select "How's your home?", then "Let's talk moving."

Ohhh, I didn't know you could move them post-design...I don't suppose it moves their house interior too? As far as how I pick a spot, it usually depends on what their theme is--for a house designed around gaming with friends or a carnival I would pick the 'city' map, if they want a house filled with creepy dolls or mushrooms their island will be one of the ones that look like they're in the middle of nowhere, deep in the pines. For color-themed houses I pick exteriors that would contrast well, like for a house filled with oranges I'd pick a map with lots of green summer trees, for a house with lots of green items I'd pick a map with spring cherry blossoms, like that.
